Dianne Feinstein (89) for Senate 2024?

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) has under $10,000 in her campaign account as uncertainty grows over whether she will run for reelection in 2024.

Feinstein, 89, raised under $600 in the last three months and just over $100,000 total in 2022, a fundraising haul that is not consistent with an incumbent senator gearing up for a reelection bid. Instead, as the senator who has been in office for more than 30 years contemplates her next steps, a number of other high-profile Democrats have jumped into the race for senate in California in 2024.

Eh, who cares. It's not like her still being in office is making any difference. A Democrat further to the left than her will replace her once she retires or croaks.

She has been mentally unfit for years already. If no one polished can step up to the plate she'll get reelected on name recognition. Term limits were needed a long time ago.

With $10,000 she will win re-election is a landslide. California gonna California. That "D" next to her name guarantees re-election.

I think California does their elections a little different than most. Most states I think do primaries, R's pick their candidate, D's pick theirs. They faceoff in the General Election. California I think has all candidates on the ballot and the top 2 regardless of party faceoff in the General. So while its guarantee that a D will win, its not a guarantee she will.

Don’t be so sure. She and her husband have been in the middle of scandals and she’s far left. She’s part of the deep state and just hasn’t been at the center of attention. The dems did a great job distracting the country with Trump and taking eyes off of bad actors.

You wonder why they keep running for office.

Of course they would still get the best seats in restaurants even if they were retired so it cant be the perks like that they find appealing. it has to be access to something they would not get if they were to retire.

Obviously, money has to be the key. Clearly when they retire they would somehow lose access to the fountain of money so makes sense they would keep running for office.

Plus it tells us just how tough the job actually is. If 90 year olds can easily do it, its probably not that demanding. Clearly its not the 170k a year or whatever it is they make that driving this.

I would be very interested in that fountain of money and what is going on with that. We need to see that information way more than some rich guys tax forms.

This is exactly what it is. The job comes with so many fringe benefits. It’s the same with many other jobs, just amplified mini mini times. The average person would get paid maybe $15 an hour, but fringe benefits might put them at $20-$25 an hour. This is why fringe benefits for the first thing to go when people demand higher wages. Politicians, on the other hand, continue to get more and more salary, along with more and more fringe benefits. I think quite a bit of money is coming via corruption as well though. Getting filthy rich is a politician doesn’t just happen as fast as it does with many of them. People like Obama, the Clintons, and Jill, Biden are good examples of this.

This is how they end up being millionaires within a few years.

Term. Limits.

These geriatrics should be nowhere near positions of power.

But how would you get politicians to vote on term limits 195% of them disagree with it? They don’t do with the people want if it compromise is there power. I truly believe that this is the problem today. There is no politician that would make a policy that goes against their self interest as a politician. It’s the same with bureaucrats; they would never agree, or do anything that would show their own incompetence, like seeking a the truth in their policy performance. For example, if a policy had a bad outcome and they discovered it, they would pretend they never saw it and just keep doing it.

Thomas Sowell discovered this working in the department of labor. He started actually looking at the data and discovered much of what the department of labor was doing had a cost that nobody was accounting for. His colleagues began getting angry with him, and he decided the government was not for him.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but what age would you limit it to, and what would be the reasons for that age? Who would get to decide that, because it wouldn’t be the voters, it would be a political party.

Nope, she should definitely not be the next Strom Thurmond or Robert Byrd who held seats into their 90s. Byrd died during his term and Strom just slept during sessions until someone woke him up to cast his vote. Time to retire, granny.

Realistically it would have to become a hot button issue with both the public and congress itself.
So far, two really bad presidents in a row, both 75 & 80 yrs old now, plus Hillary and Bernie still under the delusions that they can rule the world. Has to be really off-putting for some of the current younger members of congress (who also aspire to be president) to see the previous contenders like Buttigeig, Klobuchar, and even Tulsi get shut out of the process like they did. An age limit put forth thru congress would make the most sense to put an end to it.

We do at least have a minimum age of 35 already in place, which most people are cool with. Really starting to dread the darkest of days we have a millennial in the White House.

Dianne Feinstein, 89, won’t seek re-election, opening up a California Senate seat in 2024

Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California announced she will retire at the end of her current term.

Feinstein, 89, is the oldest sitting U.S. senator and the longest-serving senator from her state.

Reps. Adam Schiff and Katie Porter, both California Democrats, have already launched campaigns for Feinstein’s Senate seat.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, 90, falls at home and goes to hospital, but scans are clear, her office says

U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the oldest member of Congress, fell in her home and went to a hospital for a short time, her office said on Wednesday.

The 90-year-old California Democrat, who has faced mounting concerns about her health and her ability to perform the duties of a senator, “briefly went to the hospital yesterday afternoon as a precaution after a minor fall in her home,” her office said in a statement.

All of her scans were clear, and she returned home later Tuesday, said her spokesman Adam Russell, who provided no further details.

Schiff is possibly getting ejected from congress as a result of his part in taking down Trump and all of his lying. He was caught lying under oath, withholding information from investigators etc, breaking many laws on the way. He likely won't be allowed to run for anything.
