When your Doctor asks you questions about your lifestyle
How much is communicated to your insurance company?
Those million questions they ask like tobacco products, drinking, etc…do they inform your insurance

Now if a person is going to the doctor still smoking after a years and years long habit they will know without telling them. It will be obvious.

Like if you drank half a handle a day…insurance rates go up?
Smoked/smoking…insurance rates go up
Like how much on that checklist can make your insurance rates go up

I tell my doc the truth. Sexual partners, drinking etc... he asked if I was on cell tech last time I went in, I don't think he knows what a cell tech user actually looks like...

Life insurance companies will look into health info if you die and may not pay out the death benefit if you lied on their application and had other conflicting info in your medical history, etc.

When he gives a prostate exam and his finger just easily slips in there and you moan he's going to know you are gay too.

Health insurance premiums do not go up if you have, for example diabetes or another condition. I think that's against the law now*.
For life insurance, they do take into account pre existing conditions and lifestyle, and premiums do go up if you are considered a risk. Too risky and they won't even insure you.
*Under the Affordable Care Act, health insurance companies can't refuse to cover you or charge you more just because you have a “pre-existing condition” — that is, a health problem you had before the date that new health coverage starts.

just about everything that isn't spoken "off the record" is being relayed back to them and will certainly be used against you going forward when it comes to them covering costs of medical care
