Does salmon contain mercury like tuna does?

Should salmon be eaten sparingly like tuna, because of the mercury content?

When eaten raw its totally fine. The body can process the mercury naturally.

Salmon and the other SMASH fish are considered on the healthier side when it comes to toxic metal content. With that said, all fish contain mercury to some extend.

Pretty low. Wild Sockeye salmon probably contains the least. They mostly eat plankton. Usually mercury builds up in predatory fish that eat other predatory fish. The mercury builds up from eating the entire food chain...

Trout and Panfish like perch, sunfish, crappie, bluegill is also low. They eat bugs and larva and stuff.

Large walleye, pike, and other large long living predatory fish could have larger amounts of mercury in freshwater.

It's all about how old the fish is, because it gradually accumulates mercury over its life.

Farmed salmon is like 6 months old, wild might be a couple of years.

You get tuna that have been in the ocean accumulating mercury for 40 years.

Bull**** ******* nobody likes the tuna here

But srs if you’re worried about mercury avoid fish altogether, salmon isn’t anywhere near as bad as tuna though.
