Worst DOMS you've ever had?
Just fighting through some right now and felt chilly, slightly sore, ate some food and got some sugar in and feel better.
Been going to the gym 5 days a week now and pretty much upping the intensity, sleep has been off/on due to workouts.
What's the worst DOMS y'all had?

Paintballing for the first time. An entire day of running in a crouched position absolutely destroyed my legs.

Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

First sessions back from hernia surgery or ankle surgery, it had been a few months of no lifting. Forgot how bad DOMS can be even with some light sessions.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Anyone remember those strength shoes from the 90’s that were designed to increase your vertical?
I bought them and jogged 3 miles the first night I had them; couldn’t put my heels to the floor for two weeks in the morning without letting hot water in the shower run on them for 10 minutes dead srs. Calves hurt for a solid month. I never put them on again.

several times in the military after getting smoked during training. (pushups, air squats etc).
honestly the worst overall full body soreness ive ever had was in high school when I was training for the decathlon and tried pole vaulting the first time. the next day I could barely get out of bed.

Some running shoes force you to only contact with your forefoot.
I did this for a 45-minute run once, and my calves were sore for like 3 weeks.

The first time I worked out my legs in high school football I was bed ridden for almost 2 weeks and had to wrap my thighs in ace bandages just to be able to walk to the bathroom. (Ded fkn Srs)

Winter of 2012, around November. Was lifting hard and heavy a couple hours a day, 5 days a week at the time. Was no problem because I was still a young man.
Then, during the evening after I had done a brutal squats/deads/chest/arms workout (yeah, I never believed in pure leg days, always added some upper body lifts in too), I came down with the flu. Got body aches that were absolute hell on earth. Since I got the flu so badly, I wasn't recovering for chit from my workout. Never usually got DOMS at the time due to consistent workouts, but the flu made sure I got 'em that time.
Spent the next 4 days or so basically bedridden in complete and utter agony. Felt like I had done a stupidly hard workout after months of time off, but worse, and it took 3 or 4x longer to recover than usual. Really wished I had been lazy and taken that workout off, srs lol.

First leg day back after leg injury out for 3 months, i went way too hard on the squats and calf raises. Genuinely couldn’t walk for 2 days, had to call in sick and lay in bed rotting
Remember the guy that gave up? Neither does anybody else.

First chest day after gym hiatus, went really hard. My chest hurt even when I was lying still on my back in bed completely still.

Had a bodybuilder friend of mine take me to the gym for chest day when I was a total gym newbie. I had never lifted serious weights before and we did bench press in a 6/5/4/3/2/1 drop so he was making me do a 1RM. Can't even remember how much I lifted but even the first set was heavy.
What I do remember is that the next day I couldn't lift my arms and was in so much pain I had to go to the doctor for anti-inflammatories, and felt like crap for a week. Only later once I learned stuff did I find out how insanely stupid that was.

Worst doms I ever had was when I added hill sprints to my routine. I was like damn I'm tired. Walked around 5 miles home after. Next day my legs were so shot it hurt to kick the covers up in bed. Stayed that way for like 4 days. But then after that, I just got like 2 days soreness when I did it again. If I ever try to progress on most chit, I get DOMS for 1-3 days. And then if I am just maintaining and I exert myself, it's like 1 day. Of any exercise I have done at appropriate weight, I feel like hill sprints beat the crap out of me more than anything else.
