I feel so badly for your parents. Both of my kids are way more successful than you in their mid-20's FFS.
You suck.

Edit: I’ll elaborate a bit. You’ll rise much faster these days by consistently applying somewhere else. This includes applying to other departments/roles within your company at first. Later on though, you’re much better off consistently trying to go for something better, no matter where it is. There’s people in my company that have been there for decades who are great at their jobs, but essentially have had the same role (with minor changes in official title) the whole time. Their younger, go-getter bosses typically have a list of companies and roles under their belts, as well as certs and whatnot.
They do put in more than 8 hours, they are just investing those hours into their own advancement. And their level of loyalty matches the typical level of loyalty that companies are offering to employees in 2023.

Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......

don't care what gen you are but if you agree to do a job for $X and then refuse to do it because you aren't getting paid enough, then you're a piece of ****. I don't care if you're an hourly worker, manager, trade or what. you made an agreement and you continue to take the money but you refuse to do the work? scum.
other people who are working to the letter of the agreement I have no problem with but there are a ton of people who show up to work everyday and complain "I'm not getting paid enough for this" BS. Those people eventually and inevitably get nowhere in life because they have p!ss poor habits and attitudes.

This pushes them into debt and the kids need a job quick that can somehow cover their liabilities and usury based loans. They take what they can get because all these jobs have hundreds of thousands of kids or millions of kids vying for the same jobs in the same financial positions.
If you don't see how this is a broken system and understand that most kids nowadays have no purpose for work besides paying off debt while simultaneously falling further behind in life and asset purchases as the prior generations, then I don't know what to say.
Seriously picture this scenario because it's easy to put it into a perspective from yourself being older and finding a way to succeed. The average kid at 22 has 38k in student loans with a 5.8% interest rate that cannot be defaulted. They then compete for an average entry level job which is currently 40k nation wide. It can be higher based on location and major, but this is just the average. Now add in taxes. Add in car payment/insurance. Phone payment/bill. Food/groceries. Social life. Weekly gas. Sticker renewal for car each year. 3-4 oil changes a year. Weddings, christmas, birthdays. Even if they're living at home they are drowning in debt. It's harder to move up because of competition, older generations holding onto those positions or fighting for those positions. Then after a while these kids are called losers by their parents generations because they didn't move out yet because they can't afford it with their cash flow and debts. They are trying to work their way up but it is mainly incremental. Each year expenses get higher.
They're starting from a black hole. If they didn't have those student loans, can you imagine how different it could be for them even just mentally? They wouldn't feel like a financial slave.
I couldn't imagine being a new graduate in 2023. May God have mercy on their soul. Life is a struggle and hard work pays off, but as I said before, I am not arrogant enough to not see how much worse they have it even compared to when I graduated.

If you don't live in America, just think one state (texas) is bigger than Europe. There's a lot more driving than you think to get around, especially outside of a city.

I've seen the other side of who designs these debt contracts. The system is literally almost perfectly designed to destroy anyone they're exploiting to move profit into the parasite.

Life is a struggle and hard work pays off, but as I said before, I am not arrogant enough to not see how much worse they have it even compared to when I graduated.
please shut up and stop posting this nonsense

Imagine being an adult and not giving up at the first sign of adversity. While this makes sense and I agree to an extent, you have to realize that people only take these jobs to pay off debt. We live in a system of financial slavery that targets the youth before they have the understanding of the world/economics, and use the pedigree of "academia" or "college" for parents to persuade the youth for education as a sort of leveling up in society.

My younger brother in law is 16, and he makes $16.50/h doing just about nothing. If $40k of debt which they didn't even need to take on is breaking their psyche, they were never gonna make it.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Social media for all of its flaws actually benefitted the masses here; work your wage and no loyalty to any role ever. I spent 10 years encouraging everyone to work hard for their first job to prove themselves and move up the corporate ladder quickly but now I realized just how one-sided this mutual relationship is and how anti-capitalistic and corrupt corporations are. No loyalty, job hop every two years, set boundaries for work life balance, and take them to the cleaners with lawsuits.
Oh, and stop buying crap and services. You need much less than you actually think you do. I'm still working on this one myself.
