Sounds like it was a real struggle to get to that end line. But the feeling of finally finishing must have been euphoric and incredible.

You done the misc proud, caldef. Now give your tired feet a rest and just relax a bit okay?

It was really weird, like my ears popped and then just this constant whistling noise. And my own breathing sounded so loud.

Then when other people talked to me, they sounded really far away, but when I talked back, it sounded like my voice was getting microphoned right into my ears and was so loud I couldn't bear it.

I was trying to drink water cos sometimes chewing or swallowing can help with popped ears, but it was way too far gone for that. And then I ran out of water anyway (I probably drank about ten litres, all up)

Luckily after about ten km of walking it came right again, but I'll have to be careful that it doesn't recur next time I go for a run.
Congratulations, Caldef. Truly impressive !

When you are old and in your rocking chair out on the porch, you can think back over your life and remember that you did this, despite how difficult and challenging it was.

Do take good care of your ears - - - maybe get them checked after this.
I have "tinnitus", which is a constant, no-stop, 24/7/365/life ringing in the ears. Many people who have this are driven to a bad place, cuz it never, ever stops.
Mine did indeed start with a constant whistling noise in one ear.
Not to scare you or put your off your athletic endeavors. Just want you to avoid any similar future problems.

Yeah lucky the weather held out long enough for us to get home. And that I didn't get rained on.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty happy when my boss rang and said to work from home today. Bedroom - kitchen - home office - bathroom is about as far as I feel like walking today lol.

Hope you are staying safe. We haven't been very affected yet but it sounds like it's bad north of Auckland.

And yep boyfriend is definitely not a c***. Even if he sometimes likes to make fun of me. He's a keeper

See. Did you take my advice and tell him you wanted him to be there? You just have to communicate. He wouldn't have gone through the trouble if he didn't care.

I ran 13.1 and tore my meniscus (never walked or slowed down, adrenaline is a hell of a drug). Those longer races are asking for problems imo, I think 10k or a mini-tri is probably the ideal race length

Solomans for trail running

Alternate between Brooks, Saucony and Asics for road running.

Tbh tho it's just whatever's comfortable, everyone has different shoes that they like and what works for one person might not be any good for someone else. One of my friends bought those fancy Nike "supershoes" but she is a really fast runner, like she often wins age group so shaving those extra seconds off is worth it for her - probably a bit irrelevant for me.

I think I might be like the only house in my suburb with power lol. Vector outage map says I don't have power in a suburbs wide outage but I do. I think although we're same region you're probably a bit south of me

Caldef don't want to fk around with no Irish bitch.

And by Irish I mean American because Americans are the only people who act like they were born in the country of their distant ancestors instead of just saying they are American. It baffles me
