The only exception are the Ainu Japanese people since they originated from ancient Aryans, but the rest(majority) of eastern Asians are indistinguishable from each other other than culture/language.
Like if I show you a random korean girl, and I tell you she's Japanese, you'd 100% believe me. Don't act like you *******s can actually spot the difference from facial features alone.

It's possible to distinguish the different Asians if you spend a lot of time with them. Having grown up in SoCal, I can usually tell the difference between Chinese vs Koreans. The Fillipinos are pretty easy to spot.

Just like I can generally tell the difference between a Slavic person vs a Germanic person just from their facial features. Germanic people tend to have wider jaws, bonier and more angular faces.
For example, even if I didn't know who these dudes were, I could tell they're Slavic.

That's because the Okinawans are considered racially different from the Yamato people - the Yamato are the Japanese who are found on the main islands.

Difference between northeast asia (korea, japan, north china) and south east asia is huge. you go from basically SEA monkeys to korean looking girls.

South China is literally right next to thailand and laos and ****. north china is next to russia. it's a big country. Same with northeast asia and southeast asia. It's like the difference between Canada and Mexico in distance.

It's stupidly easy to tell between northern asians and southern asians. southeastern asian -> short, extremely flat wide nose, brown skin, round face. northern -> lighter skin, tall

if you live somewhere there is alot of asians, you'd be able to tell eventually.

You think so but the issue is that you could have one dude from China and the next town over the dude is from (North) Korea. Chinese people can immigrate to Korea and so on forth. And it's not like their skin color is darker. They're right next to each other. It gets easier when there's more geographical distance... I guess if you look at the center of China and the center of Korea then yeah it's probably easier to tell but border populations or areas with high immigration and it's a crapshoot. Like trying to tell Portuguese vs Spanish apart

90% of the Asians where I live are Korean, so I can always tell a Korean girl, they are usually pale. Matter of fact besides brown asians like Cambodians and Phillipinos I don't know that I've met an asian that isn't Korean

Japenese, they have different face structure, they are the easiest to tell apart.

I'm Asian and anybody who says they can easily tell some Asians apart are lying. Whites are the easiest to tell apart because they come in different colors(blonde, brunette, ginger/blue eyes, brown eyes, etc/freckles/pale/tanner/etc). There's just more variety.

Blacks, Asians and others are more difficult to tell apart. But of course if you spend enough time looking at a specific group of people, you can start picking out individual traits. Just more difficult with some races.

In terms of how you can tell Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Chinese from each other, some general rules are:

Japanese and Koreans tend to be taller, fairer skin, slimmer features, more pronounced monolids. At least that's how I kind of tell them apart. But they share so much similar traits that it's still difficult to tell. Asians from South East Asia though like Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia pretty much are just a dead give away most of the time. Dark. Double eyelids. Big flat noses. Shorter. Big lips.

But yeah, it's not easy to tell most of the time.

Nah, i'm half korean and half japanese and i can tell most asians apart.

You right about the 2nd part, I live in Hawaii which is probably the most asian dominant state. We are good at telling eachother apart.

What I'm talking about is, if I'm looking at a group of Japanese people. If all the girls and guys don't have any distinctive traits like being really fat, tall, etc, then it takes a while to really pinpoint which girl is who and which guy is who.

For instance, I'm a big Kpop fan. And it takes me a good minute to tell apart some of the members if they're not in clown make up.

Telling apart different ethnic groups are a little easier. I can tell an East Asian from a South East Asian quickly. But I figure most people can do that. But even then, it's not always a fool proof strategy.

But in general, white people are just the easiest to tell apart.
