Ohare is basically a place for planes to refuel and passengers to meet connecting flights and GTFO. Never set foot in the baggage claim all the times I've been there.

O'Hare International Airport is the largest airport in Chicago. It has 4 terminals and offers roughly 568 daily non-stop flights to 154 U.S. cities and 45 daily non-stop flights to international destinations in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Yeah, you goof, the DailyMail is absolute sensationalist bullchit.

I flew through Ohare a few weeks ago, saw someone sleeping in the pedestrian bridge from the train into terminal 1. It's about the same as it's been for the 20 years I've been using the airport.

I've flown through there quite a bit this year and I occasionally see a few in the tunnel connecting the terminals and the L but I don't recall seeing any in the terminals themselves. Seen plenty in ATL or SEA in the wee hours though.

There are definitely some homeless people sheltering at the airport, especially on cold nights. That it's being overrun by thousands is just stupid though. Even if you've never set foot in the airport it doesn't makes sense by the numbers alone.

Sounds like there are a lot who go there but they aren't all there at the same time. And probably all very transient, getting booted out repeatedly. While those ones are getting booted out others are finding their way in.

The Daily Mail is one of the worst of the tabloids, and there's obvious reasons why it's cited so often on this forum, but that doesn't mean it's the only one.

I would say the numbers are inflated, BUT there is homeless people living/sleeping at O'Hare and it is ridiculous. Every time I see this shiit I just imagine being a visitor to the city and what they are thinking. Not only that but then you hop on the Blue Line train from O'Hare to get to your hotel downtown and there are bums all over the fukcing train. It's terrible.
