Reminder. Though you may not believe, I am telling you God is real.

I am an intelligent, healthy individual. I am telling you God is real. I am not lying, in fact I do not lie in my adult life, it's something I stopped doing many years ago. I understand you are skeptical of other humans. They let you down, they lie, they manipulate. I am not one of these people, thanks to Jesus. I am telling you the truth.

This is not just a feeling. Or self-delusion. God is real, and I have experienced things that are supernatural. I have a real relationship with the Most High God that created everything around us.


He is real. It's not just silly myths for weak minded, or lies to control the weak minded, or whatever. JESUS is real.


God has been knocking on your door for years, but you hold back. You know exactly what you should be doing, you know exactly how to get out of the situation you are in, but you refuse to let go.

You carry your pride and your issues with you. Just let them go. Put it down. God is waiting for all of his children to come back to Him. That includes you. No matter what you have done, God has seen it all.

Here is the Sinners prayer :

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior.

Let me use an analogy. So a professional sports player thanks God for a win.

You've seen the ROCKY movies right? Sylvester Stallone, ROCKY the boxer. In the movies, he thanks his trainer Mickey, even after he passes away in the later movies. He's not thanking Mickey for going in the ring and helping him dodge punches or something. He's thanking the people who helped him along the way and made him who he is, and made it possible.

In the same vein, when someone thanks God, for example a sports win, they are thanking God for being there for their whole lives. For saving them, for developing them as people, for watching over them, for giving them love and confidence and strength to work hard and become the best at their craft. They aren't saying God came down and moved a football's trajectory for them or something.


As to why God doesn't stop bad things from happening, like molestations. He could, and He has done things to intervene in the past, but mostly God gave us free will. He allows us to keep our free will, and a consequence of that, is some of us choose to do evil.

But you are not alone, and He gives you salvation, strength, love, to deal with whatever happens to you. And when your time on this earth is over, we awaken into everlasting life with Him, and we get our reward.

Great thread Opie. I’d say developing a relationship with God is the most important thing a person can do in their life, and certainly at the present moment with the state of the world.

How can suffering not exist if free will TRULY exists? It's a natural consequence.

If free will doesn't exist and absolute determinism is true, then it would make sense for suffering to not exist given God could have made any reality he wanted.

Suffering is man made. It is from sin that we suffer.

You simply want God to remove suffering from this world, while ignoring the cause.
