On bass i like staying on 1 string and sliding to the next notes instead of going up or down a string. Hard to explain. I want to buy a 2 string bass to force myself to play that way always. They even make a 1 string bass although pretty rare lol

This is also really good, it has your usual groove which is great.

I started mine, but fuark... this is a real challenge. The sample is great and all, but it couldn't be more difficult to find a way to use it lol. It's a shuffle beat, major scale... The idea I have now is pretty cool, but I basically just had to chop a note's worth and pitch shift a chord progression, so it's completely unrecognisable, bordering on cheating lol. I'll see what I can put together between today and tomorrow and we'll see how it turns out. I'm about ready to throw in the towel though.

I know exactly what you mean. The 1st hour playing around with it i lost all my motivation. Had writers block... The shuffle thing just messed me up. Wish i could have picked a better record....

I have lots of samples just depends what vibe.

Pengh I have like a million betas just needing bass lines, I've never really figured out that low end like that.

Here's what I managed to come up with. Basically nothing to do with the original sample, but it's in there - not my proudest moment lol. The main synth line is chopped up/pitch shifted from the sample (as well as the intro obviously). I didn't spend too much time on the mix/master because I'm already late as it is. Extremely difficult battle.

Good on you for posting it, even though you're not happy with it - that takes balls.

It sounds good to me! I like the drum programming and plucky synth sounds. Both of you guys have mastered those shimmery transitions with the cymbals or high hats or something, I need to pay attention.

It's normally the last thing i do. After i have everything arranged, I'll drop in little cymbals samples or "transition" efx. I don't play them i jusy insert them via it's own track and apply efx to that. Hope that makes sense. I got most off a trial run of splice a while back. I'm sure there's loads of free ones online/youtube
