The face recognition ones freak me out. I’m heard of people knocking victims out to use their unconscious faces to unlock phones after stealing them (apparently a crew in NY was known for this).

Dealt with this back in 2014......guy swiped my GF's phone while we were out....she was drunk and probably left it sitting somewhere. We figure it out at about 1am, so I call it....some guy picks up and says he's at his house and we can come get it. Says he want's $500, I say yea sure man, whatever you want, Ill get it and be to your place in 30 minutes....

Drive drunk AF to this guys house, back into his driveway call her phone, he says just come on in....I say I'm not coming in your house, he says "you want this phone?" I say "you want this $500, you'll meet me in your front yard" so I see his front door open, I get out of the car and start walking towards him, I can see the phone in his hand, I walk right up to him and as he starts to say "you got......" and boom he gets a nice right hand to the gut, he drops the phone and falls to the ground. I pick up the phone and walk back to the car and drive off.....and as Im walking to the car his mom opens the front door and starts yelling at me "What did you do!!??" he's still on the ground trying to catch his breath and I can hear her yelling at him "I told you to just give him the phone!"

Then,drunk GF is all pissed off at me for hitting him and said I should have at least given him some money cause he could have just stolen the phone altogether.

I've always been very anti-tech. Only recently started using all this BS over the course of the last year and a half. But yes, this is a very hard lesson about dependence on cell phones and technology. Basically just lost my whole life because some crackhead picked up my phone and got into it.
