As long as you can live off 4 days worth of wages

But if you want to work 4 and get paid for 5 then go fist yourself

This.

You will be hard pressed to find a company that will give a 4-day work week, but pay you as a 5-day work week.

Its not realistic & no way a president would have the power to enforce that anyways.

Na this isn’t for hourly LTC tradies. Only salaried big tech and office workers

Nah, i work 3x12's. That would be a downgrade. Unless they go for 4x10's, that might work.

Edit: oh it's that decrepit socialist geezer. When the fuk is he going to have a heart attack and die already.

Probably. Fuk five 8's.

the 5x8 is and was perpetuated by old *** boomers who are stuck in the mindset that a 5x8 is the only schedule known to man or one that could feasibly work, and the reason is that they have no lives themselves and dont have chit to do in their free time so the 5x8 gives them work to come back to 5 days a week, so they at least have something to do. At my old job these dumb kunts actually bragged about how little or not PTO they took, i guess as a way to brag about their "work ethic" or some chit. its really pathetic and sad to the point you cant even describe it. the 5x8 needs to die a horrible painful death srs.

Wood work four 10's or three or four 12's no problem.

That's what these guys want though.

I actually work 4 days on, 2 off. I personally love it. Even though it's technically 5 days a week.

A 4 x 40 work week is actually quite common, but it is up to the business and NOT your mommy govt.

I used to work a 9 x 80. Loved it. Three day weekend every other week.

I only do about 15 minutes of actual work per week anyways, so whatever.

I'd vote for anyone taking up the single issue of permanent daylight savings time though.

This, businesses already do modified schedules as needed, 3x12 4x10 etc

It's really business specific too. I could see some tech jobs being able to do it but most essential services run damn near consistently and have to have staffing to accommodate.

The evidence on 4 day work weeks (actual reduction in working hours, unlike what Belgium have offered) have broadly been very positive, most firms who have trialled it are sticking to it. A lot of jobs consist of a huge amount of idling and so there isn't really any loss of productivity when workers switch to 32 hour weeks and have more time off (obviously isn't true for every job).

Just like when unions fought to formally reduce working days from 6 to 5 and create the weekend early in the 20th Century, I imagine this will also happen, and be codified in law at some point in the not too distant future.

But yes the US is chock full of wagecel bootlickers and the US right in particular tend to deepthroat the entire boot so it will get a lot more resistance on its inevitable path.

The point is not that it is a bad idea. The point is that I do not need a president or government to tell me how to run my business.

Your statement is dismissive of the legislative process and the role of the President in proposing and enacting laws. The implication that the President's role is limited to simply proposing legislation, which is then automatically passed by Congress and signed into law, is not only inaccurate but also disrespectful to the complex nature of the democratic process. The legislative process involves negotiation, compromise, and the engagement of multiple stakeholders, and the President's role is essential in facilitating this process.

It is also dismissive of concerns about workers getting paid for a day off. It uses derogatory language to belittle those who support workers' rights, suggesting that they are "big business boot lickers." This kind of language is divisive and dismissive of the concerns of working people, who may rely on paid federal holidays to make ends meet or spend time with their families.

Finally, the statement is insulting to those who may choose to work on paid federal holidays, suggesting that they are hypocrites. It is possible that some workers may choose to work on paid holidays for a variety of reasons, and this choice should be respected rather than belittled.

It is important to engage in civil discourse and respectful dialogue, even when we disagree with each other, in order to create a more just and inclusive society.

This is whats going to happen in the US and in Germany:

US: More and more AI and machines taking jobs. Millions of millions of millions of more unemployed will walk the streets and life in tents.
A small minority cuts the jobs gives it to machines and takes the profit. They will take the money and live in a seperate village protected by border guards.
Poverty will be insane in the U.S

Germany: More and motre AI and machines taking jobs. Government taxes all machine and AI profits and gives a universal income to every German. People dont have to work if they dont want to and still live a decent life.
Millions will start volunteer for free because they dont ahve to but want to help. Happy End.
