Resident Evil two remake was good.

Third was really bad.

Never liked Resident Evil 4, because it falls too far out of the original narrative.

The first three are great, the first being the best.

RE4 is the reason the franchise is still alive srs

4 was goat, 5 was ok, 6 sucked, 7/8 were great

I loved all the remakes cause they adopted RE4 style gameplay

I am definitely hyped.

Haven't played 3 yet so I'm looking forward to marathoning both games.

Biohazard and Village were both so good

The original on the GameCube was the best snd still in my top 5 games of all time.

Resident evil was built from the ground up for the gane cube hardware and controller. All the ports to ps2, wii, etc weren’t as good as on the cube.

I been excited for this remake as I thought 2 was solid af. re7 and 8 too. I feel like they been killing it for the most part

7 returned to the re formula that made the earlier games so great before they reinvented the series with 4. Which wasn’t as good on 5-6 sadly.

They strayed to the dark side with 5/6 but I feel they got back on track quickly, capcom knows what they're doing now

repped. fukking finally someone who has the same sentiment as me. I was with RE from day 1 and remember playing 4 and being so confused/disappointed that it was no longer survival horror. capcom just completely abandoned the survival horror format for an action game instead. And you can barely express this opinion because the majority have nothing but good things to say about RE4, even claiming that it was the best one ever made. fuk that game.

That may be true but the other poster is still accurate saying the first 3 are the best.

RE4 only saved the franchise because the newer generation needed a more 3D experience. The truth is the stationary camera is what made the original RE series so good. But then the wave of things like Halo and Call of Duty started showing up and kids got used to the new 3D world of a camera view.

It's too bad that it went that route. Those of us who grew up with the originals know that the stationary camera wasn't a negative, but actually added to the eeriness of the experience where you only had so much control over what you were able to see at any given moment.

Not to mention the fact that RE4 ushered in a new wave of shoot as much as you can, which was also supported by the other popular games at the time like Halo and Call of Duty where shooting anything and everything was "fun". Strategy was slowly stripped away at the expense of being able to kill everything. Rarely did you choose to run by stuff in RE4 to conserve ammo.

And while you could solve puzzles to find weapons, you also had the option to buy them if you opted not to solve puzzles. In the older games if you didn't solve your puzzles you didn't get your upgrades. There was no bypassing it by killing enough zombies and collecting coins to then buy it from some random merchant posted all throughout the game. I know the merchant ended up with something of a cult following but it wasn't really Resident Evil-like.

RE 1-3, and even RE0 on Gamecube, will always be the best simply due to their gameplay style. These were the games that made it legendary, in the town with the storyline that made it legendary. Everything else afterward has been a cash grab restyling it catering to the current generation rather than staying true to it's roots.

But who was regenerators

Chainsaw guy, verdugo, mendez, garradors, the game still had plenty of chit your pants moments

RE4 still has a better feeling of shooting than any FPS Ive ever played

I guess I should clarify that inherently, the game isn't too bad. It's the change of format from the games before that which we grew up with, loved and were used to is what made me dislike re4. if 4, 5 and 6 were renamed something else and became a new franchise/spin off I suppose I would have been fine with it.

Looks good. Looking forward to it. Much prefer RE4 and RE2 remake style to the new games they’ve been doing.

I started off on RE4 then went back to play the originals, I couldn't get behind the restricted camera angles. I started gaming around the ps2 era so maybe Im the newer generation of gamers dunno

Used to sit around a friends or ours tv and play mercenaries for hours.

Can't fkn wait brah. Only thing is, they kind of made Leon a b!tch. Both he and Krauser lost all their muscle.

Ada's voice is HORRIBLE.

She sounds so bored and lifeless. The actress was just simply reading the lines and not even acting. Her voice and Ada's appearance are so mismatched.

And I hate how 'snazzy' her voice sounds. I can picture some 90s chick with that voice talking on the phone, while chewing gum and filing her nails.
