I'll come back in the morning and I fully expect to see diversion and lame personal insults, but no actual evidence.

You made your own bed, chief. It’s probably good you get some sleep, you’ve got some serious explaining to do in the morning.

I think it's pretty obvious you don't have the knowledge to actually make a scientific case here. If you did, you'd simply have presented an argument like a reasonable, scientifically literate adult would. Reliance has a PhD in the field I believe and I've got at least undergraduate with honours in biochem/molecular bio. I don't think we are wanting for scientific literacy.
I think you are not only lacking in some empirical evidence, but you're simply unaware of what the scientific community knows about natural origins, either. Like I said, empirical evidence trumps smoke n' mirrors anyday.

That is why I always laugh at Bodhy and Reliance012, who both claim it is definitely natural origins.
While I do tend to lean towards lab leak, I have made it abundantly clear that there is no conclusive evidence in either direction.

And let's not forget why this became politicized. Trump did it when he went to podium one week after the pandemic started and blamed the lab. And every one of you Trumpers jumped on board and have been spewing this crap nonstop.
But now suddenly gwg77 (and all the others) want to pretend theyneverclaimed it came from the lab.... FUKING LOL.

That said, the vast majority on this site did exactly as I said. And now the right wing media is doing victory laps, while credible media is reporting the truth - most intelligence agencies either still lean against the lab leak or are undecided.

The FBI has moderate confidence. The big deal with the Energy Department is that they were previously undecided and have now seen (so far undisclosed) new evidence which pushes them in the direction of lab leak with low confidence. Eagerly awaiting what this new evidence is, though.
And don't get me wrong, I have made dozens of threads as a proponent of lab leak, but I have always mentioned that there is no evidence in either direction. I push back so hard because I do find it funny how there is no conclusive evidence, yet the left is so adamant and confident that it is natural origins.
Just a couple days ago in my Energy Department thread, I was agreeing with Anachron that there is still no evidence in either direction:

Peter Daszak's Lancet letter:
The rapid, open, and transparent sharing of data on this outbreak is now being threatened by rumours and misinformation around its origins. We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin. Scientists from multiple countries have published and analysed genomes of the causative agent, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2),1and they overwhelmingly conclude that this coronavirus originated in wildlife

And if all these accusations against Fauci were remotely credible, why didn't Trump fire him? Makes no sense to me.
