That's the way it goes sometimes, it can also go the other way.

I had Covid last week. Couldn’t get to the gym for 4 days. Sucked but I kept my calories in check if not ate a “tad” more. Not much strength lost. Probably like zero muscle lost. Took me like 3 days to get back to where I was. Really sucks but sometimes there isn’t much you can do.

It's strength that goes quickly. Muscle usually stays for a while.

My most extended hiatus from lifting was 2 years and it took me only two months to regain my full strength.

I was actually surprised at that time for I thought it took more than that.

But I had been weight-training for over two decades by that time (now 4 decades) so in retrospect it makes sense.

The longer you trained, the faster you can get your strength back even after a long break.

So relax and enjoy the lifting itself.

Good luck, my friend.

this, strength tends to be kept alot better if you eat, even if you get a little fat,

if you stop eating and reduce your protein a lot, it seems that's when alot of muscle and strength is lost
