I'm a rentcel and my apartment has granite counter tops

An average house in my City (1970s 1980s build) cost about $350k currently results in about $2600 a month with utilities. For this amount you get a house with an unrenovated 1970s kitchen. I pay $1500 all in for an apartment with granite counter tops, two bathrooms, pool and gym access, a games room with air hockey and ping pong. I literally pay $1100 less (which if I just throw in a savings account is $13,200 a year). A similar quality build in a new house would be roughly $3k, or double.

I hear a lot of proud home owners on here go on and on and flap their gums. Are any of you home owners proud enough to show the state of your kitchen? I feel a lot of people on here mention their homes but they live in dog chit and it's pure cope, like a dork bragging about getting poosy from his 200 pound tank of a gf. Any misc home owners here brave enough to show your counter tops?

How big is the house vs the apartment? Because I have a condo that I rent for $2400, and the mortgage is $1300. I also have a detached that I rent for $4000 and the mortgage is $3100.

Bruh, I have $1500 more in disposable income per MONTH than someone in a similar quality build. I can afford to drop $13,000 into a fund each year if I wanted. Your first year of payments went to interest, my first year of payments EARNED me interest.

Show me your counter tops and we will see who is coping LOL.

Sure I will show you my kitchen. Laminate countertops. Bought for 160k in 2014, worth 225k now. Refinanced last year to 15 year loan. Payments are like $1,300, will be paid off when I am 48.

Actually not BAD. Stove and microwave are newer, counter space is acceptable. Does it look like a Holiday in continental breakfast should be served there based on style? Yes. Does it make me sick to look at? No. Has this poster factored a $30,000 kitchen reno in 15 years into his calculations? Doubtful, but that is OK.

My condos have granite. Proud to make them happy and take their money.

Granite in an investment property may seem like a waste, but it pays dividends. It is very hard to damage without intent, making maintenance easier.

Anyone who enjoys cooking at home would love a granite countertop.

Hey man, if you want to handle all the business aspects of my living I am happy. Let me know how it goes when the condo board assesses condo fees. Used to know an engineer who would do the estimates and they said every time they had to up the condo fees because of general shoddy construction and upgrades the entire condo became salty and aggressive towards the engineers. LOL.
