Nope. And your family doctor will use uptodate and get his guidance from the actual literature on the subject, all of which recommends things like vaccination.

Nothing. They have no counterargument whatsoever to the simple fact that Mr. Makary along with many other idiots in the media have grossly misrepresented the conclusions of the Cochrane Review meta analysis.

All one has to do is look at the confidence intervals to see that the hypothesis that masks are effective has not been ruled out in any meaningful way.

What I am doesn't change the fact that your prestigious expert misrepresented the result of a study in congressional testimony. We have it on video. I also can read and understand his research while he would never be able to understand mine. So forgive me for not giving a fuk.

This means the authors are uncertain on their conclusion, which doesn't mean masks don't work. It means they don't know. They totally can work, as you can see from the huge confidence interval. In other words, the meta analysis isn't saying much of anything at all. But that won't stop people from weaponizing it.

I'll also add that based on physics and actual laboratory tests, we actually know how well masks filter covid. Those studies have been posted a zillion times and are easily googled.
