wtf new hyundai looks pretty sick

I'll need to ditch my 3 series in about 6 months as baby #3 is incoming, so i've been researching some cars with 3 rows.

I've never really liked hyundai designs, but fuark the new palisade looks pretty badass. Comes with a lotta bells and whistles, as well and a good warranty.

$42K brand new for the version in the pic, hopefully I can get a lightly used one for sub 40 at the end of this year. Beats the fuk outta getting a tahoe, suburban, or expedition that's a couple years old with 50K miles for more like $50-60K.

Yeah, wiring harness for the trailer hitch caught fire a few times. I have a Telluride. I’m getting a trailer hitch added. Just waiting for the harness fix.

Yea Im not chitting on hyundai, they make pretty good vehicles and have come a long way. I put 100k kms on a 2017 Elantra with zero issues. I loved that car.

Would buy another hyundai if I was in the market for a new car.

More in line with a Chevy Traverse I believe.

Very sharp looking truck. Looks great in person.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

So does the Tucson and Sportage right?? GTFO

the Hyundai family have been crushing it the past few years. Still offering a lot of tech for the price. Their safety systems are up there with the Germans.

They just need to get wireless AA and AC integrated with their big screen infotainment systems. No idea why they haven't done this already.

Decent styling but I bet they cut corners on drive train and suspension components. I imagine it's just a well polished turd as opposed to their regular turds.

Not sure if srs, there are very few curves. The whole style is straight and boxy. That's the biggest aesthetic change from the previous body style.

I mean it's the same guts as a telluride and Hyundai owns Kia, so. They saw how successful the telluride was and basically pumped out a slightly different and slightly cheaper version that has a more sporty option (like the pic in the OP)

Yeah I have wanted a genesis for a long time, but the GV70 is actually not that big and the GV80 is expensive as fuk

Dunno, I know that both the telluride and palisade have smaller engines than their slightly larger competitors like the tahoe, expedition, etc. They go for forced induction over displacement. Can't say about the drivetrain and suspension but it will be driven pretty lightly so I'm not that worried.

GVW telluride vs tahoe 4.1k vs 5.4k
Towing capabilities 5k vs 7k.

Tells you right there stuff like brakes, engine + transmission, suspension, and body/frame construction are going to be piss poor on the korean truck. It's a Ford ranger chassis disguised as a full size vehicle.

We just made a similar switch due to kids.

Picked up a ‘19 VW Atlas SE-R. Captain’s seats are a game changer with young kids, and still having trunk space with the 3rd row up is also huge.

We got ours with 32k mi for $34k, just as a reference.

Gonna disagree. The telluride is 16" shorter and 3" thinner. It's a smaller car. Telluride has a 3.8L V6 vs. the taho having either 5.3 or 6.2L V8. That alone will be hundreds of pounds and is the primary contributor to the lower payload and towing capacity.

Chevy consistently ranks near the top in terms of problems per 100 cars, lol it's not some pinnacle of quality.
