Cochrane apologizes for mask review misinterpretations

"Many commentators have claimed that a recently-updated Cochrane Review shows that 'masks don't work', which is an inaccurate and misleading interpretation."

"The original Plain Language Summary for this review stated that 'We are uncertain whether wearing masks or N95/P2 respirators helps to slow the spread of respiratory viruses based on the studies we assessed.' This wording was open to misinterpretation, for which we apologize."

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Yeah, he’s isn’t saying they don’t work. He’s saying that after extensive review of N95 masks they still can’t determine whether they work or not. If they can’t even conclude whether N95 masks are effective for that use case what makes you think those stupid surgical masks and other cloth coverings are doing much of anything at all?

I think these types of extensions and unsupported conclusions are why they issued the statement and apology.

Well if they study something extensively trying to show a use case but are unable to do so, then a reasonable approach would be to take the stance that it’s quite possible/likely that they don’t work for that use case. Otherwise they would’ve been able to show the effectiveness in the studies being reviewed.

That's the thing, it hasn't been studied extensively. Which is stated in the article, but either missed or glossed over by many.

Glad they clarified their position, the truth never hurts unless you have an agenda.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Imagine if there was a cancer drug that was used and then later on it was shown that it was ineffective. Would people still take it?

Remember when you said you were gonna stop wearing one, just because you were vaccinated? How'd that work out for you? Especially in NY of all places.

It worked out exactly like I said it would. I stopped wearing masks to "protect" others (unless the places I went required it, which of course I had no problem doing). And guess what happened? Tons of retarded Trumpers got themselves killed by delta and omicron because they didn't get vaccinated and wear masks. Oh well... not my problem.

Riiiiight, you stopped wearing a mask in NY after getting vaccinated, where it was required, but I'm sure they dropped the mandate juat for you Patty.......

And why would someone get it for not wearing a mask? That's not how they work Patty.

I live here Dave, don't know what crap you've been reading on your right wing fake news sites but masks weren't mandatory outside of NYC a lonnnnnnnng time ago.

And for your second question.. I said I stopped wearing them to protect others.. literally said if you don't want to get vaccinated or wear a mask to protect others, fuk you then. And a whole bunch of retards killed themselves because they sure showed everyone..
