Funny, you have no problem with overcharging poor blacks in the inner city, but god forbid a right wing extremist gets exactly what he deserves and you start calling for fairness in policing.

I stopped trusting police 18 years ago when my mother weaponized the police against my dad after she got violent with him and he restrained her.

He had to carefully weight that 3 months of probation vs up to 20 years in prison. We got the not guilty and succeeded in a lawsuit against the city, but I didn't forget. Nor have a forgotten how the government set up the rules for civil suits.

Innocent until proven guilty and charging for the correct crimes have been a hot button issue with me for all of my adult life.

It's good to hear the perspective of someone who's actually been fukked over. I think everyone understand it happens and it's always good to put yourself in someone else's shoes for a minute.

It's hard for me to accept the argument of over charging or the hype surrounding the one dude who won the best costume contest though. 400+ have been convicted or plead guilty, all receiving fairly similar sentences based on their individual charges. People are also still being convicted after the tapes have been released and used by defendants.

Harsh, but on it's face seems like a fair application of justice to me.
