Cashman is a *******. It's like him not wanting to include Clint Frazier in a trade for Cole.

We are two weeks out from the draft. If you haven't submitted your keepers yet please do so. You will still have the option of changing them out.

LeagueSafe invites will be going out this week.

Solid, looks like another possible 2nd place finish for you.

I just have one question. Where's Corbin Carroll?

Also yeah we doing 2 N/A keepers.

Ayyy fuk u m8.

So I'm a dumbass and picked Alek Thomas over him last season because I was going to add him shortly into the season last year, didn't think anyone would scoop him up right away coming off shoulder surgery and seemingly being a ways out. Feelsbadman.

And throw down Zac Veen as my second NA, may flip flop closer to draft but I'm cool with that for the time being.

Actually I might want a 2nd for Cristian Javier.

Rodon going for a 2nd, Javier is 5 years younger, and way less injury prone. So he may have as much value as Rodon in keeper leagues?

First year doing this so not sure.

How do you value the upside of a young player like a Jazz or a Javier? I guess guessing at that is part of the fun.

yes. i've been in "dynasties" or "keepers" a long time. it makes leagues fun cause different guys have different strategies. this isn't quite a "dynasty" - in dynasties you keep everybody. and in some of them you have minor league systems. ive played in leagues with 32 teams and full on minor league systems. played in another that had 2 farm systems and an amateur draft with salaries

a lot of times in dynasties guys value young guys. too much. but then the are the other types that don't like prospects at all

keepers imo have less value on prospects cause keeping vlad jr. at 16 while he takes 8 years to develop can be a hassle

I've only ever done redraft and never have played at trading draft picks, so this is a learning curve for me. seems like the way im valuing things is definitely different than others, but that's ok, we'll see how it works out haha.

the way you're doing it is the way i did it when i first joined. i had 3 good keepers but like 3 bad ones that never would have happened if i had owned the team from the beginning

its tough to make up the talent in the draft but i did it. you'll be going 40-50 picks in the draft without a pick and will see a lot of talent fly off the board. you'll be missing out on those middle guys that support your team. so if one of your studs gets injured it will be hard to make up.

this will be the first year i've ever had a normal draft

Bitch I haven't had a first round pick in years. You had the third pick in last year's draft. Don't act like all your picks just magically disappeared. You've traded them for an advantage in season and you have absolutely nothing to show for it. I've had multiple first round picks and I've not had a single pick until the third round. **** doesn't matter. Winners gonna win. Losers gonna lose. That's why having picks or not having picks won't change your circumstances.

lmao.. ok. there was like one year where you didn't finish early. if that. you're always done before the last round
You had the third pick in last year's draft.
first round. i had a decent amount up top but went 40 picks without a pick. so from about picks 140-180, no picks
You've traded them for an advantage in season and you have absolutely nothing to show for it
mostly true. but your championship first year for me relied on corey kluber with 2 starts having to sit due to the indians making the playoffs. amongst others
why having picks or not having picks won't change your circumstances.
then what is this about. literally all i said is true while you've pulled out some trivial bullchit

you came in quoting something that wasn't directed toward you

edit:

even in last year you didn't have a first round pick, but you were done in the 21st round while the draft went 24

round 24 consisted of me, jy and spaz

So question, where did all your picks go over the last 5 years? You were given the same amount of picks as everyone else.

You can't manage a team property in the playoffs. lol @ you thinking anything is going to change that.

ehh, maybe. definitively? yes

but because of the team i inherited, i traded picks to make up for it and constantly had to make up that value

yasiel puig, hanley ramirez, max scherzer, jose fernandez, christian yelich, nolan arenado were ricardo's keepers

which i turned into:

jose abreu, mike trout, mookie betts, max scherzer, carlos martinez, corey kluber the first year

so from the looks of it, 1 keeper was what i "inherited". 5 of 6 were different made by me

zere0wn will see. one injury to his keeper core and he better hope his draft hit cause he has a lot to make up
