I recently dated a broke girl unintentionally. I met a girl while traveling, and enjoyed her company and asked if she wanted to keep traveling with me. I said I'd pay for costs as I'm quite financially secure, but I met her when she was traveling solo so I was under the impression that she had some money and could pay for her own basic things.

It turns out, this girl brought $300 US dollars with her on the trip with me, and she ended up having to pay $250 for a return flight at the airport before meeting me. We were expecting to travel for about a month together, so basically she was planning of me paying for 100% of her costs for the entire month.

She's not a completely unpleasant person, but traveling with a broke person is overall kind of a nightmare. Every time she wanted something, she was asking me for money and eventually I just became tired of being hit up for money for everything. I started saying "no" to her occasionally, and it would turn into some type of argument or she would run away. After a couple weeks, having to fund everything made me lose sexual attraction for her(I was very sexually attracted to her at first), so I was trapped in a foreign country with a person I was slowly growing to hate who was expecting me to support her.

I ended up pretending to like her just enough to make it through the remainder of the trip, and ended up going on my own solo trip to another country in an effort to get away from her. She decided to keep traveling solo, so she was either lying about only having $50 or she found some additional money from somewhere.

Anyways, this is my first and last time dating a girl without doing serious vetting of her financial situation beforehand. If she's not upper middle class at this point, I'm not really interested.

i briefly dated a younger girl who apparently lived paycheck to paycheck. one time she drove us somewhere to get something to eat and i look down at the gauge and her gas tank is on empty. i'm like WTF. she says she has to wait for paycheck to get gas - and it's ok because there's a lot of miles left. i'm like WTF pull into the gas station - i filled her tank. also when she was at my place i hear her begging her cell phone company not to shut her service off she will pay her late bill as soon as she get paid next week.

this was a total turn off and i dumped her. totally financially irresponsible.

Yes years back. Some weren't bad but it gets annoying fast, most chicks that are broke I knew ran up multiple credit cards on useless material schit. Do not try to white knight and pay their way either I did that once in my 20s, wasn't worth it for some entitled Karen you will get no appreciation in return.

**** no, I didn't give her any money. But I did pay for her while she was with me. Eventually it reached a point where I'd buy things for myself and not buy anything for her though.

I'll admit that offering to pay for her was kind of simp behavior, but she was hot and I was looking for a travel companion. But in reality I should have just kept traveling solo and picking up other girls along the way(which I did anyways).
