The police helping the insurrectionists entry or escorted has been argued in court and lost by the insurrectionists. The police were outnumbered and there were a few maga police, with at least 6 being fired.

I think we can all agree, the people who tried to stop the peaceful transition of power were in the wrong. Whether they entered by force or not.

Disregard the police action here- If someone is actively trying to have an insurrection- and you believe they are tying to conduct an illegitimate transition of power- should we attempt to stop it?

Funny I see the Shammy being alone while cops fumble keys to open a door to a restricted area.

We currently have order. MAGA tried to stop the transition of power through the proper channels to begin with, the court system. They lost. At the current point in our country, no, we should not attempt to stop a political movement that has gone through proper channels. Wait 4 years and try again.

My opinion changes if we are in a martial law/war/end of world scenario.

Read his court filings, I posted them earlier. You are not arguing with me or what you see in a clip, you are arguing with shammy's own words and 18 months of investigation and court proceedings.

Leninism is legal. Democrats used it. Is it moral? Is it right? Why didn’t the courts stop it? Why is there no law against it? Oh, there is, but it’s just ignored because all three branches are corrupt.

Metroins and NYPat both seem extremely disturbed by the fact a story line they were so emotionally invested- has turned out to not really be true.

They are legit upset, and can't handle this.

Please get help if needed.

There’s an assumption that when someone pleads guilty to a crime, swearing to tell the truth and allocuting to all the elements, he actually committed it. But this is not necessarily true.

We all know that innocent people can be found guilty of crimes they didn’t commit, but innocent people might actually choose to plead guilty simply because they’re afraid to go to trial. Thefearis based on a simple fact — people who go to trial and are convicted get much heavier sentences than those who plea-bargain.

Prosecutors in most states are not required to share evidence they’ve gathered until the eve of trial. But defendants who wait till then lose the benefit of a plea bargain. It’s not uncommon for judges to tell defendants as they’re being arraigned, “If you don’t take this plea today, it’s off the table.”
Force by the hand of the federal government with the kind of charges they were talking about? They were being tortured! Just lol at anyone that wouldn't be afraid for their lives with terrorist charges by blood thirsty leftists.

What was the guilty plea? Obstruction of an official proceeding

This is an excerpt from the justice department
They then entered the Upper West Terrace at approximately 2:10 p.m., as the certification proceedings were still under way. Chansley continued into the building through a broken door at approximately 2:14 p.m., one of the first 30 rioters to get inside.

Chansley continued moving, reaching the Gallery of the Senate and then the Senate floor. He then scaled the Senate dais, taking the seat that Vice President Mike Pence had occupied an hour earlier.

He proceeded to take pictures of himself on the dais and refused to vacate the seat when asked to do so by law enforcement. Instead, Chansley stated that “Mike Pence is a f----ing traitor” and wrote a note on available paper on the dais, stating “It’s Only A Matter of Time. Justice Is Coming!” He further called other rioters up to the dais and led them in an incantation over his bullhorn. He was cleared from the Chamber at approximately 3:09 p.m.

Here is an old article with some of the arguments prosecution made:
Five people, including a U.S. Capitol police officer, died as a result of the hours-long occupation of the U.S. Capitol.

On Friday, in court, the judge asked him if he had read the statement that laid out what he was accused of doing: threatening congressional officials, unlawfully remaining in a restricted building and committing civil disorder.

"That’s what really happened?" the judge asked him

"Yes, your honor," Angeli said.

"You are, in fact, guilty of this offense?" the judge asked.

"Yes, your honor," Angeli said.

Angeli, who was arrested under his legal name, Jake Chansley, had previously insisted in media interviews that he had done nothing wrong. “I walked through an open door, dude,” he told NBC News the day after the insurrection.

The government had described Angeli as one of the leaders of the raid, which succeeded in halting for hours the certification of the 2020 election victory of President Joe Biden over former President Donald Trump.

Lamberth, in a March ruling rejecting Angeli’s request to be released while awaiting trial, agreed with prosecutors.

Lamberth said Angeli did not enter the Capitol “to ponder Statuary Hall, but with an intent to disrupt the functions of our government by means of force."

Lamberth cited video that showed Angeli walking into the Capitol through a door while people were climbing through a nearby broken window as evidence he was part of the initial incursion of the building.[color=red] Lamberth wrote that Angeli “quite literally spearheaded” the entry into the Capitol.[color]

Turns out? Care to share with us how you came about the knowledge that the prosecutor was wrong? At his sentencing Shaman said, "I have no excuse. No excuses whatsoever. My behavior is indefensible." He even referred to himself as a "good man who broke the law." His words. That sounds to me like man who realized he f'd up and has chosen to take responsibility for his criminal actions. Not a man who feels there is more evidence that could exonerate him, mostly because he knows he is guilty. Good for him.
“The hardest part about this is to know that I’m to blame. To have to look in the mirror and know, you really messed up. Royally,” Chansley said.
“I was in solitary confinement because of me. Because of my decision. I broke the law … I should do what Gandhi would do and take responsibility,” he says. “There’s no ifs, ands or buts about it, that’s what men of honor do.” He promised to never have to be jailed again.

Lol he clearly didn't understand the articles.

The original charges being threatened were sedition. He pled guilty to lesser charges. His attorney likely told him to show the judge that he was remorseful, hence the reason for his admission of guilt and remorse, to get a lesser sentence.

There are too many people here who don't understand how the courts work. Its a chit show where a majority never want it to go to trial because of the potential sentencing and more severe charges.

it doesn't even matter - we know that people who have plead guilty have had convictions overturned when new evidence is discovered. It's not unheard of but he acts like because he plead guilty there is no chance at overturning the conviction.

Why do you completely discount the possibility that Shaman actually felt remorse and was contrite? Why does it always have to be a conspiracy? That does happen, you know. Guilty people sometimes admit their guilt.

How do you know he even wants that? How do you know he wants his conviction overturned? Perhaps he's satisfied with how things worked out. Seems to me he had an epiphany in jail and realized Q had been duping him all along and now wants to make up for all the crimes he's committed.

maybe he doesn't groomer. That wasn't the crux of my argument. You have continually said that evidence to the contrary wouldn't matter since he plead guilty - that's not true.
