Question for Mods
Can someone be banned if they are encouraging a recovery drug addict to relapse, they are even offering to pay for the drugs?
I’d hate to get anyone banned but this just doesn’t seem right.

I’m not sure how to search individual threads but if you search this thread
https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=180479163Maybe just the word Venmo
The post in question should be able to be found.
This particular dude has even resorted to sending private messages I can share them here.
I really don’t read munch of them because it’s complete filth, but I am getting tired of the harassment.
Thank you for anything you can do

Don't know about banning per se, but sounds like a miserable douchebag move.
Someone should page poonycheeps the narrator for additional data.

I have never once successfully been able to use the search function here. I understand it could have worked and I just did not use it then. But the impression I have, is that is has never worked.

If your sobriety relies on strangers on the internet, I got some news son.....
(I have been diagnosed with alcohol use disorder and have multiple years of sobriety)
It isn't "evil". It just humans being mischievous in a way that is entertaining to them. We can choose to assign it value or not. I recommend not. You dedicate your attention and emotions to whatever you feel compelled to. I would just advocate a lot more personal responsibility and accountability. Especially with things like over coming addiction.
All we do the entire time is blame other people for our problems. That is the number one reason we cannot fix them. We don't take responsibility for them.
When I first started working on sobriety, one of my friends (a drinking buddy who desperately needed a drinking partner) tried to get me to drink one time when we were out at a restaurant. He was acknowledging the statistical likelyhood of failure, my personal relationships with people who do drink, just trying to keep me down at his level.
When he was done with his little rant, I said "I don't need to worry about any of that. The only thing I need to focus on is the fact I am not drinking right now."
I never spent time with him again.
Because you made this thread, and apparently took offense to it, I assume you take it personal.
Are you struggling with addiction man? We can talk about solutions if you want instead of focusing on the perceived obstacles.

I believe what this guy is doing is equal to those who encourage people to commit suicide. I just believe this behavior goes against most community guidelines.
Maybe I am being a baby, but I am a firm believer, if anything matters, everything matters.

I would suggest you are misplacing emotional resources, which is easy for anyone to do. Have your values man, don't let any of us try to talk you out of them. I just have some recommendations for stuff that worked for me. And the easiest way for me to express them is to be as direct and blunt as I can be. I had to do that to myself before I ever did it externally. It has been effective for me.
Doesn't work for everyone.
You should expect to come out with a completely different mindset afterwords man. Any amount of discipline or strength I have, was primarily the result of me overcoming alcoholism.
I am grateful for it. The work required to become sober can be applied in all areas of your life and I mean it has been extremely beneficial for me. I am grateful for all the "struggles" in my life, but that one man.... I am lucky
I don't see your age, but one thing I realized through my development and maturing stages (still going on today, and will be until I am physically/mentally unable), is not to have expectations for other people. That is us projecting our standards and values on them, which leaves a lot of room for self inflicted emotional stress.
Marcus Aurelius revisits this theme in his journal which has been titled "Meditations".
Be brutally strict on yourself. You should fail to meet your own standards every day. And at the end of everyday, review yourself. Did you accomplish what you set out for, did you behave with intention, did you rise to your full potential? If not, why and how to fix it......
You have to be patient with other people though. Just like we will fail to meet our own standards, I do every day, other people will fail to meet the standards we set for them. Again, it is on us to place value in that or not.
Radical acceptance man. Another theme in Meditations. When you wake up, tell yourself the truth. People will be *******s today. They will interfere with my driving, they will be selfish in their behavior, and they will absolutely try to bring us down to their level the second it appears you are progressing in life beyond what they have decided they want for you (themselves). Accepting that as fact before hand removes the surprise aspect of it, which makes it easier to cope with. This has been a huge help in building patience with other people.

Yea, you’re probably right I definitely need to do more meditation and reflection. I feel like I have been a new comer for over a decade, i struggle to get a year under my belt.
As I observe and reflect on things I notice I’m probably trolling the dude more than he is trolling me, but there is an honest part of me that wants to see this guy healed, he seems to be full of bitterness,
There’s a Christian principle I am trying to exercise on him and that is loving my enemies. Regardless of all the stuff he says, I still want him to find peace and joy.
I believe every cloud has a silver lining, like every cloud, maybe that’s a controversial statement but what doesn’t cause controversy these days,
Okay I’m done with my burning desire rant
