How to deal with boredness?

Had a really eventful weekend and was occupied 24/7. I love that feeling of being active and having my agenda fully booked. This morning I went to the gym and am now doing some stuff for uni, but I just can't let go of those up and down feelings of being bored. Could be doing way cooler things rn.

I don't know how anyone can even be bored outside of work. Too many things available.

You can go do outdoor stuff diy projects, practice a skill, play games, watch a movie, listen to music, go drinking, walk at a park, hang out with people, etc..

What do you do with your down time?

I find most things you just listed mundane af. I mainly do fun stuff but are quite intense like a big party. Then the day after like today I just feel so down from that high. not down on energy but actually full of energy but nowhere to spend it.

Get a bicycle and ride around town srs. If your fun involves things like drugs and alcohol, your natural dopamine is gonna take a minute to recover. What type of things do you like?

Good suggestion and last summer I did exactly that. I have a bike and rode it everywhere I could, but then got bored (srs) because after a while I had already been on every street/park/beach around my house in a vicinity of like 10 miles.

I do not take drugs and go light on the alcohol, but after a party it is mostly the fact that in that social group I'm well liked/respected srs and it is just so fun to talk to everyone. I can just go over to someone and talk chit with like 40 people there. Now I'm sitting here and don't have anyone to talk to irl, can text or something but also boring af.

What I like most is being and feeling competent. I've tried a lot of new things and always become a bit obsessed for a few weeks till im not a noob and then I feel competent in what im doing. Then it gets boring to me.

How about traveling OP? Go somewhere for a couple weeks, and always have your agenda full for sights to see or whatever you want to do at said country or city.

Are you enjoying what you are studying?

If not, that's a very bad warning sign for later in life.

It's also important to think of doing small things as "doing something".

I have met a lot of women who always need to be doing something big, spending money, etc and so they are always bored and never happy because they don't know how to enjoy simple things.

Yeah, actually really enjoy it. Used to always watch YouTube videos about this stuff and make pretend cases and read up on the news, but now I can actually do those things while studying.

I feel like that yeah. The last couple of months I am also having extensive contact with a woman who is like that lol.

When I find everything boring then it usually means Im going through some sort of depressive episode. Life is too interesting to be bored otherwise. Go for a walk, smell the roses, ded srs.

I do feel a bit down but would not say depressed/depressive episode. It's like all my emotions are very stomped down except the emotions of feeling frustrated, ambitious/wanting to succeed and lust

It's fuking hard, man.

I just got back from traveling 3.5 months, and all but a couple days were in warm climates. Every day, I could pop out of bed and go to the beach or doing a million other things. Drank basically every night and although there were some dull points, I was never truly "bored".

Now I'm back in a town of 100,000 and the weather is cold and my work is relatively slow due to high interest rates. I'll stay busy with the gym for a while, because it will take a month or two to get back into the shape I want to be in. But otherwise I'm fuking bored too. Typically in the past, I'd cope with rather unhealthy habits such as going to the bar or doing drugs with friends, but I'm in a really good headspace right now so I'm keeping that stuff to a minimum.

Thinking the solution is to begin traveling again? It's the only thing I can think of to do that will keep me interested.

I hate women like that, lol.

I can have a great time sitting on my couch or on some adventure.

I rarely feel bored for this reason AND I save a lot of money.

What negative emotion is keeping you down? Its not easy to see at first, gotta do some self reflection. Feeling numb is usually the bodys way of coping with some sort of emotional pain. Look within boyo

What is keeping me down is the fact that Im not who I want to be and im not achieving my goals fast enough. and I've been evaluating the relationships I have, I don't actually care about anyone except a chick whom I would never wife lmao. And I feel like time races by, which makes me antsy and a bit stressed
