This organization sat here and let Swanson walk, and passed on any semi-competent SS to replace him, all because they assured everyone that Grissom was the guy and fully capable of taking over.

Fast forward to Spring, both Grissom and Shewmake post relatively strong Springs in what they effectively labeled as a position battle only to drop both of them to the minors. Word I'm hearing is, the Braves get an extra year of control of Grissom specifically if they keep him down until June 10th.

First off I think Grissom will be a train wreck, but that's beside the point here. This is the guy the Braves convinced the fan base was a suitable reason for letting Swanson walk. The vibe was we had a guy. Now the time comes to play the guy and the Braves are still playing games rather than putting full effort to win for a team that should be 100% in win now mode. We aren't the Pirates looking 5 years ahead. What the f*ck?

Between McGuirk making grand statements about wanting to be Top 5 payroll right after we got eliminated last year (we're 8th by the way; so not Top 5... shocking I know!) to sending your replacement SS down for 2 months just to get an extra year of control it's getting real tiring putting up with all of the excuses and bullsh*t this front office feeds to the fan base. I honestly don't think there's a worse organization in terms of lying and pretending to care, but not actually giving a sh*t.

They do everything they can to manipulate the fans into thinking they're giving full effort. Just look at the Murphy trade as an example of that. This is what the Braves media will headline as the big addition of the offseason. But it wasn't a real addition. It was sleight of hand addition by subtraction because all they did was flipped a better offensive catcher for a better defensive catcher. Pure manipulation so they could pretend they "added" something to the 2023 team. No you didn't. All you did was reshuffled the roster a bit with a new name. That's all they ever do though, look for some media angle to sell the fans that are too stupid to recognize the difference and excite them to come spend money.

They did the same thing with Olson last year. Try to distract everyone with Freeman leaving by getting Olson in a trade BEFORE Freeman signed with someone else. All while shipping off tons of valuable prospects and selling it as getting a younger model at 1B. Anyone with a brain knew they downgraded significantly, and quite frankly more expensively, albeit in a different currency (because they're cheap with actual money).
