I practically WAS retired about 2 years ago.

Then the market completely collapsed inward on itself.

Die in the climate wars.

Not sure if I'll fight for the Bezos paramilitary or Xi's liberation forces.

Kinda sad that I haven't even thought that far ahead. With the rise of cost, of we'll, everything I'll probably only have about $200k in social security at 67 and that's IF it will even be available to me in another 34 years (It wont).

I'm kinda just living day to day saving up what I can. I guess I could try to say something funny like OD'ing on drugs or two hookers at the same time, but realistically, if youre under the age of 50 the concept of retirement in the traditional boomer sense is looking rather bleak, and the people in power making these decisions won't even be affected by it so why would they care if they raise the retirement age to 80 or scrap SS all together? They'll be dead by that time anyway.

The more thought I put into it the more I think we should be doing what the French are doing at the moment.

I don't really see myself retiring all together, If investments workout I should be financially independent in 15-20 years so after that I'll probably do some sole proprietorship on my own terms and see what sticks.

If investments go to zero, retirement will be the last thing on my mind I think.

People who retire do pretty much the same thing before they retired, except they don't go to a job everyday.

So within those 8 hours they used to work, they do MORE of the same stuff they did the most of, when they were working.

For example the average guy might be watching tv when he's not working. Same dude when he retires will just watch a LOT more TV and anything else thats related to that type of entertainment, I.e. researching new TV, setting up home theater, etc.

Most people think when they retire they'll do some crazy fantasy ****. doesn't happen. Why? Because motivation usually DECREASES when people retire.

If you want to have an awesome retirement, you have to start living that life NOW before you retire.
