How many of you train at Planet Fitness? Do you actually like it? Srs thread

I might have to go check one out and I'm not so sure how I'm feeling about it srs...

It’s the only gym thats open 24/7 so I tolerate it.

It was the first gym to open near me after the lockdowns. It's serviceable for the general pop, but the dumbells only go up to 75, there are no power racks or free weights, and there are no barbells except for the Smith machine.

Once a real gym opened, I kept my PF membership as a backup. Should probably cancel.

I've gone a few times with my wife, she prefers it over my gym. It's usually cleaner and smaller than an La Fitness or 24hr, more machine focus (small free weight area). I'd say if you're doing light to moderate training, limited free weights and like the smith machine (they usually have a lot of them) they're ok.

It's honestly not bad when it's not crowded and you workout with high volume. There's no barbells, but there's enough equipiment to get a good pump. I personally dont like them, because their dumbbells aren't heavy enough. (Ded fkn Srs)

Went as a guest a couple times, it’s not bad. Lots of equipment. I thought it was funny that they have a bowl of candy there all the time for everyone to enjoy.

Good point, they have tons of machines, not as many free weights as they should. Not sure what poverty planet fitness you go to but where I went they had barbells too, lol.

I’ve been to lots of different PF and have never seen a barbell but they do have the preloaded bars always. I think they go up to 60 lbs.

It's more like a good hotel gym than an actual gym, and I would never want to workout there full time, but it was great when it was the only place open after the lockdowns.

I was going to quit LA Fitness because I lift at home and only use it for cardio. The plan was to join Planet Fitness and add my 13 year old son, and train him there until he outgrew it.

He shamed me for considering it, so I got him an LA Fitness membership instead.
