AI is taking over the world

I have an interview with an investment firm for a software engineer position. As part of the interview, the company sent me a problem to develop an API in python. I simply copy and pasted the instructions into ChatGPT and it wrote all the code for me.

It'll be interesting to watch over the next decade. AI is just a glorified Snapchat filter at this point. But when it starts writing code and movies, it could put a LOT of people out of work. I wouldn't be shocked if AI is what swings the pendulum back away from the woke bull****.

AI is already making porn, driving cars, writing code. The newest generative AI can create videos from text. I don't see the point of getting out of bed anymore.

I think AI is to blame for a lot of what has been happening the last 10 years. IE, people HAVE been using it for a long time, it's only just recently gained popularity in the mainstream. ChatGPT probably wrote the last 10 years of shows / movies / news, etc.

Think about how everything the past 10 to 20 years FEELS like AI wrote it. Take the Disney Star Wars Trilogy, for example. If you think of those movies as the product of AI writing, it actually takes their lack of quality or cohesivity and makes way more sense of it.

And journalism? Probably all AI written with woke buzzwords in the prompts.

I've been following all the news closely recently and this chit is getting crazy. We aren't at AGI level yet but i believe LLM's are one of a number of components needed for AGI and i also believe the world will change in crazy ways just with LLM's.

Looks like education is going to suffer too. There are kids being expelled from school for educational dishonesty, while others who get away with it which leads to them being overvalued on paper. We are going to have a lot more incompetent people running the country.

It's usually the losers, so the teachers are at least able to catch people doing it relatively fast. He can usually tell when a student has written above their own capabilities.

Our school sent out a letter warning parents that if our child is caught, there will be harsh consequences. There are a few students in the school that I could definitely see doing this.
