R&P = pathetic

I just counted 13 threads about charges being able to be brought against Trump for hushing a porn star on the first page of RP. Pathetic, just like obsession over 2024 election cycle for the last 6 months has been pathetic. Meanwhile multiple countries are dumping the US dollar for trade. Use of the US dollar internationally is what allows the US to run huge deficits with relative impunity. The more such moves happen the less demand for USD, and then deficits do matter.

China and Brazil dump US dollar for trade between them. China is Brazil's biggest trading partner. There goes $150 Billion in yearly USD demand.

It's tabloid worthy. Little to report other than charges we suspected would come can be brought. And for fuk's sake how long is the whole thing going to take? Getting charges for indictment in a normal case takes a couple of hours, this took months. The Trump case will get stalled out for years. The two things I mentioned, especially the dumping of the USD is way way way bigger in its effects. The only BRIIC nation that hasn't dumped the dollar (yet) is India. Congress and whoever is POTUS can't keep tossing around Trillions of dollars without consequences. I just saw Brazil and Argentina are seeking a common currency, so Argentina may end up dumping the dollar for trade in near future after that common currency comes about.

That means pirates (no peg legs, hook hands, or eye patches) return to the seas well beyond ****lis. Good luck Brazil in the near future when your ships from China are raided by pirates from other Latin American countries. Oh you want US naval protection again? It's going to cost you. The US will look the other way as Iranian oil vessels headed for China are confiscated by Saudis. WW3 is probably more likely over scenarios like that than NATO fighting a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine.

13 threads shows how pathetic this place is, the TDS on both sides. I created one about the USD. The fact that I had to point them out before anyone else is sad. NY Post is no worse than CNN in its partisanship, both NY Post and CNN are much better than MSNPC with partisanship and accuracy.

I just meant historically. Reserve currencies change at somewhat predictable intervals. USA #1 forever is and always was unlikely.

Make a decent thread with something worth talking about -- probably won't get as much traction. What's to talk about? People are probably unaware and do not care or have their minds set about many of those things.

I think Matt Tabbi being targeted, probably for political reasons, is a big deal but beyond it being wrong and scary, what more to add? If anyone on the left chimes in, maybe you see the rare one with integrity who says they do not like it but you're more likely to attract bottom-feeders like Pat or Sillie who will scream about it, call you names for even thinking about it and if you're lucky send you a racist neg message about your family.

This place really isn't a good place for exchanging ideas. I do still think you hear things here that make it worthwhile and, yes, a lot of sensationalist stuff you hear regardless, but not much you can do about it beyond making your own threads and getting a couple responses Vs Bodhy getting several threads, including one I made, that all have multiple pages of silly stuff.

It's TDS bread and circus run rampant to the nth degree. Frankly, I couldn't give a damn when there are more important matters going on, but unfortunately this is all it takes to distract enough people from anything consequential happening in the world around them.

These continuous chases for indictments have been going on andon, and all I can think of now is this:


The only noteworthy discussion to be had that is merely tangentially related would be the subject of campaign financesas a wholethe desperate need for tightened regulation and accountability across the board, but enough of us know all to well that nothing productive like that will ever come out of this. In fact, I think that's the intention, and lends credence to this indictment being dragged out so as to string along the distraction as everything else starts crumbling.

Personally i don't need to read about Pat, Wincel, or anything Bhody has ever said in the past; unfortunately the same 50 dudes love to repeat that disgusting stuff repeatedly!!

I'm unaware of you saying "let's discuss real topics and stop the character bashing" other than Dave's stalking you in threads and you telling him to stop stalking you. I've called out the character bashing within threads, and I don't think this is the first thread where I've called out the obsession of the RP about a singular story. The myopic focus by RPers isn't any better than Twitter and I suspect a lot of the bandwagon is people seeking reps. On the other hand, meh. Can't take this or main misc too seriously. A fair amount of my posts are commenting about fat or crazy people in threads in the main misc.
