They aren’t better athletes if you’re just talking about speed, strength, etc basically physicality

But they are more “skilled” athletes because skating, shooting, puck handling at high speeds takes more skill than running and jumping which every human can do but not every human can take a 100mph slap shot or skate which requires a ton of technique

I’d argue golfers are more impressive athletes than football players … I’m all about skilled sports not athleticism

nba players who avg 25 + a season the moves you see them do have taken them years to develop in some cases even decades and they are still practicing daily 4 times a day
They are up against the best perimeter defenders and 7 footers in paint and opposing coach exploiting their weakness and drawing the defense around them etc.

They are getting paid alot of money for a reason
