Maybe someone convinced a mod/a mod saw no transcript and went with "if I'm lying, ban me" bet he made in the first place, or he actually asked them to do it? Just had a brief look at his recent posts and couldn't see anything stand out that was bannable at first glance, so I'm not sure it's that. Jokes aside, I'm inclined to side with people calling him a fraud as it seems incredibly odd to shift the goalposts so much. From the long delivery time and bizarre order confirmation proof (not a screenshot of the email, with details censored, just something very basic you could probably cook up on excel?) to producing an unopened letter after saying it was a parcel, not an envelope (cynic in me thought about sending a letter to a university asking for them to write back/signing up to a newsletter or something in order to receive one back from them; can't be arsed for that), to then demanding more money to post the transcript - the original point of the entire thread/your payment - and not showing it to you....yeah. Very, very suspect, to say the least.

Not that I really give a sh!t, thank god it's done. (Although that said I'm curious to see what the posts will be like to/from him if/when he's back)

Jokes are fun, but on 'REEE' that has never been me. The 'reeee' folks are the ones who deny facts that are plain as day. For me on this though, it could be that he has a PhD and as I (and others) have said many times: who cares? PhDs are a dime a dozen too, and plenty of idiots graduate from Harvard and Princeton and come to NYC assuming that the brand 'must command' something, yet simple mistakes in a cover letter have them crying when I call out their self-proclaimed "perfectionism" in a job interview. Whereas the best answer is always "Good catch, we live and learn though on the path to perfectionism", not launching into a sea of cope.

I never had any stakes as to whether Bodhy had a PhD or not. I gave the 50 to push the discussion forward, and confirm again I haven't: (i) seen a transcript; (ii) been given a charity to donate further funds to; or (iii) otherwise been given a path towards confirming the PhD or not.

At the end of the day it feels like an elaborate troll, of the kind "people are replying, therefore they're maaaaad!" so that's why I support a perm too unless a verification method is provided. Not for 'fraud', but for 'chitposting'. PhDs aren't a big deal, sorry folks.

My job here is done. If he ever returns - at the very moment that I notice he does - I’ll drop some money to a conservative charity just to get him banned again.
