I believe Cody will still win it, just that they let him chase a bit. Let Roman reach 1000 days, Cody wins at SummerSlam or Survivor Series. It is still their first match afterall, storylines usually end after several encounters.
That might have made sense on paper when they first drew it up. But too much stuff happened perfectly to make WM39 his moment. The freak injury and that match, followed by the comeback, got him as over as he'd ever be. Good for them if it happens at SS, but it won't be the legendary moment this would have been. They're dragging it out for way less impact when it happens.

Saw it coming a mile away. Cody was loving on Brock too much.

AND

It’s not a good move. Crowds loved Brock. He’s so much better as a face. Now Cody has to have a Brock feud for a few months before going back to the title picture.

Unless they’re doing this to get Cody away from the belts for a year+ I don’t see it was worth losing a popular face in Brock.

there's a lot going on here.

first of all, the boodline stuff needs time to resolve itself. jey uso MUST play a role in roman dropping the title, whether it's him stopping solo from fukery or it's him actually fuking roman directly.

next you have a couple of big events coming in in puerto rico and then saudi next month that need big matches. cody/brock is new. it's fresh. it's different. this program should go at least two matches.
next ppv after those is money in the bank.

cody wins that and calls his shot for summerslam in advance and finishes the story there after a few trials and tribulations.

he hasn't beaten anyone yet besides seth. he comes back from injury, wins the rumble and he's chitting rainbows all the way to mania and he's just gonna beat the fuking final boss on his first try just like that? roman's reign(no pun intended) deserves a more dignified finish. it can't just be about cody finishing his story. it has to be about the bloodline resolving itself too or you make roman and his historic reign look kinda insignificant.
cody needs to face some more adversity on the way. it'll also be good to see how the crowds react to this. if cody is still over as fuk and brock stops getting cheers, it bodes very well for cody.
i'm a guy who believes cody can run with the ball for a couple of years, but he will never ever mean more to wwe than roman already does. not even fuking close.

Get out of here with that nonsense. The bloodline crap has been dragging out for 2+ years now. Nobody cares that much anymore. Jey isn't even a midcard talent. He's half of an overused tag team.

WWE isn't even patient enough to see most storylines through for a couple of months. I'm tired of the "more meat on the bone" excuse for rehashing another version of a Samoan soap opera.

Dirtsheets are now claiming that Bayley walked out during tonight's taping of Raw over a dispute with creative on the tag titles.

Not a smart decision considering ANY MOMENT the spring cleaning announcements will drop. I suspect the wave of calls/tweets will happen after Smackdown

Theres other places to earn a paycheque now, and Bailey can get a featured spot in another company as a fairly big name in the wwe women's division.

Sometimes you got to go away and learn a new hold.

Roman is finally in the place that Vince wanted him at all these years ago when roman was 'sufferin succatash'ing' it up - they will not let his momentum slow down now, that would be a set back for everyone. With Roman getting 1000 days as champion he will be able to keep his name relevant after dropping the title and then take a vacation..while elevating Solo and the USO's.

However with Cody, It would be a wonderful dream moment that he would end up world champion and all would be legitimized in the Rhodes family..But Vince is too petty for that. I feel like he, Vince, Will have Cody be elevated to getting his ass beat in main events while winning matches on Monday Night Raw until his contract expires. Vince tried to embarrass Dusty with the polka dots, named Virgil after Dusty's real legal name as a rib, never let Goldust get near the title and now Cody can be humiliated for attempting to better himself with AEW.

Dusty worked for Vince Dad - then he went to a rival company and became a huge name back then. He basically became the 'Triple H' of the company he was in opposing wwf at the time - he wrestled and Booked matches (Look up : Dusty Finish)and was the right hand man of the boss. He left them and showed up with Vince in the late 80s only to have Vince attempt to humiliate him with the polka dots and a 'fat woman of color' as a valet that Dusty was supposed to be in love with (sapphire) ; but Dusty made it work but he was never treated with much respect by wwf / vince.
