This appears to be a coordinated effort to protect Biden and his family at the expense of the American public.

The Trump administration investigated Trump with more fervor than anyone else, calling it Trump's DOJ is meaningless.

There was not enough evidence to charge Trump in 2022 by Braggs own words, he would not seek indictment.

There has long been evidence of Biden crimes.

I didn't even know I had an outstanding warrant, it was from 3 or 4 years prior. I remember everything about that night, my court date was for the day after Obama was inaugurated, which I asked for a trial and we went to trial about a year later where I was found not guilty.

Found it. In Maryland they are called commissioners and do pretrial releases and are open 24 hours. If you were actually LEO you would know that better than me.

The purpose of the law is to prevent corruption in NY State. That's a valid goal I think.

I found this article which gave more detail on how the laws have been applied in other cases:

Records have to be accurate, mistakes are one thing, but intentionally falsifying is a crime.
The court reviewed relevant precedent–including Kase, Schrag, and Elliassen–and held that “the term ‘intent to defraud’ does not require an intent to deprive the state of money or property, but rather intent to frustrate legitimate state interests and processes.

I've been a businessowner since I graduated high school and in every business I've owned my records are meh at best. I would have classified Michael cohens payment as a legal expense too.

The difference is, Trump knows and owns a hundred million+ company with general counsel and experienced CFOs. I have one CFO for one company and he's not that great but I don't pay very well. Trump has been doing business in New York for 40+ years, with thousands of employees, I'm sure he knew the laws better than someone like me.

It's still a dumb law.
