Commander of US Naval Intelligence: "The US needs to wake the F*ck up about China"

This echos what I've been pleading people to listen to me about regarding China. They are not backwards, they are not incapable, but people still choose to believe that because they aren't educated on China's progress and capabilities. Our politicians are drunk on Chinese cash and it's probably going to take another Pearl Harbor for Americans to wake up to reality.

Sad these quotes didn't get more attention by US media.
In February, he told attendees at the West 2023 exposition that the American public was “naïve” about China’s capabilities.

“It's mind blowing how big the problem is. I’ll be very honest with you. It’s very unsettling to see how much the US is not connecting the dots on our number one challenge,” he said at the time. “It’s disturbing how ill-informed and naïve the average American is on China. I chalk this up, if I could summarize, into a China blindness. We face a knowledge crisis and a China blindness problem.”

"The problem is so massive most people don't know how to have a framework for it. We need to have more conversations with the country to understand the problem."

"We are clearly the number one enemy. We are characterized as such. Most Chinese fully believe that in their minds."

"They think America is dangerous. They don't think democracies are efficient. They think they're ineffective."

"The China challenge could be the most nonpartisan issue that could unite the country in significant ways."

The Adm. makes a plea:

"Can we please lower the amount of internal bickering within the US and focus on the international challenges that actually affect every American?"

"We're going to find that we could very well lose the peace. We worry about winning the war, prevailing, but we can also lose the peace in the meantime."

Write local politicians and start promoting anti-China rhetoric locally. Talk to people about China and make people aware that the US government isn't making China a big enough issue. Part of China's comprehensive strategy for dominating the US involves systematically penetrating every political office and business sector they can to gain influence and control (which they wield with their economic power). If the US government won't show concern about China, average Americans will need to.

This thread is proof of what the Admiral is talking about lol. China should realistically be a more significant threat than our internal struggles, but our government doesn't frame it for the public in that manner (they receive money from China), nor does corporate america (they receive money from China), nor does our media (they receive money from China), nor does academia (they receive money from China).

We expect them to keep us informed on a topic like this, but like A-train inThe Boyssaid "You don't f*ck with the money".

In fact, it seems like our military is the only entity taking China in a serious manner by pressing forward with advanced modernization and manufacturing infrastructure.

I'm still astounded US politicians haven't forced US pharmaceutical companies to get production out of China. China's rapidly aging. They likely started losing population a decade before they announced it and are running out of workers to replace the ones who were the world's factory from 1990-2015. As things stand now they will not escape the middle income trap, and countries across the world are divesting out of China, but it takes time. Those factors along with many other troubles mean they're more likely to become desperate in the coming years. Desperation leads to drastic moves.

I wouldn't count on anything slowing China down anytime soon, they've defied those predictions for decades. This is also something Americans should use as a learning experience. A most recent and obvious example of countries not abandoning China is the recent weakening of the power of the Petrodollar in favor of trading in Yuan/other currencies.

I'm aware of some of their expansionist ambitions. I don't know how 3rd world countries keep agreeing to China building infrastructure for them under terms they can likely never repay. And when they fail to make the payments China gets to treat them like colonial states. I'm dumbfounded how African countries keep letting themselves be caught in debt traps to China, which causes such countries to be begrudgingly on China's side in international relations. Regarding the US I expect they'll hit our soft targets economically and intellectual property theft will only get worse way before they consider pushing against the wrath of the US military.

If the US removes some of those protections China will get cucked by countries in the Middle East and if they have the huevos to do so, by India too. Some blockades of oil tankers headed to China by Saudi Arabia or India are an existential threat, and that's probably how WW3 would actually start.

Corruption.

America's leaders, Africa's leaders, Europe's leaders. China can print as much money as they want and enrich whoever they want to influence. China has been setting up Africa to be dependent on China, and Africa will be what China was to America in regards to cheap labor and manufacturing. They've also been helping set up an African defense force similar to NATO, who is dependent on Chinese military contracts.

Also, I wouldn't envision any scenario where China gets cucked, they have the economic power to bring a lot of countries to their knees without a military (by design). And their naval production and capability is a large and serious concern, something publicly recognized by Congress and DOD in the unclassified report on China to Congress.

Like the commander above echoed and myself, most Americans are seriously underestimating China. Publicly, people have to dig for a lot of information to stay informed, and not simply Youtube videos like some are hooked on. Chinese websites, Chinese R&D publications, defense news, think tank analysis, public intelligence assessments, etc. I tried to bring a lot of that to light, but people seemed to maintain the notion that China wasn't a threat so I just assumed they're retarded.
