We have witnessed real crimes by our govt officials in the past go completely unpunished. What we are witnessing is novel interpretations of law to try to contort one into believing that maybe charges are warranted against a former president and top political rival of the current sitting president.

I remember when Trump got impeached for simply acknowledging to the Ukrainian president that tons of corruption took place in his country, like crowdstrike's role in the russian hacking narrative, Biden and US officials in their pay for play schemes, etc. All of which was true.
