Blows my mind how anyone takes up smoking these days
Granted majority of people are retarded so maybe it shouldn’t

My 79 yr old father is dying due to smoking for many decades. 45% of his lungs is dead and will continue to rot the rest of his lungs until he can't breathe anymore and dies. He currently needs oxygen 90% of the time while sitting at home doing nothing.

My grandfather ended up with emphysema because of smoking. He did everything he could to right the ship but that’s still what did him in.
Will say a prayer for your dad.

Took 3 hits of my first cig and had to put it out because of the spicy-ness. There was a level of clarity that I have not felt in a very long time, if ever. I have never taken ******** before but if I ever did, I would assume smoking a cig and ******** would give a similar feeling. It's like being a caffeine addict, quitting cold turkey for 3 weeks, then having your first sip of monster... but 10x more powerful. That was what smoking a cig felt like. The effects did not last long, maybe 15 mins. Ended up smoking an entire cig 30 mins later. Was decent, but didn't feel as good as the first time. Then smoked another cig, another 30 mins later. 3 cigs smoked within 1 hour.
Wokeup, thought about smoking a cig. Went grocery shopping, wanted a cig. Was stuck in traffic, wanted a cig. Got home, just ate lunch, craving a cig.
I took a shower last night, brushed my teeth, and have washed dishes twice since smoking. Just picked my nose and the cig stink is stuck to my hand. Lit a candle for ~2 hours and my apartment still stinks.
Sitting here debating between throwing the rest of the cigs away or trying them again tonight.
Cliffs:
- OP smoked cigs
- OP might be addicted

All the degenerates in Philly smoke Newports and If I smoke one fast and it's really fresh, I get that feeling of intense clarity you are talking about.
However, that happens only if I haven't had one in a LONG time, but if I have two in a row, it's just like a mild buzz, less than coffee.
I never got into smoking because I cannot feel much from them so, it's just boring and tastes bad.

I'm either totally immune to the effect or it's mostly psychological in others.

If there were ZERO consequences to smoking and they were free...I wood.
As it is though...smoking a cig after winding down or doing something is great, but you just can't play with them like that. It sucks you in and doesn't let go. Next thing you know you're buying pack after pack...you realize how nasty your mouth feels, your cardio down, the smell, ash everywhere, a yellow tinge to everything and your fingers discolored...but you are powerless...you'll quit after the next pack...right....
There's freedom is knowing you are stronger than incredibly addictive things that control so many people...cigs, alcohol, weed, porn, etc, etc.
