How to deal with Jury Duty?

Misc, I got a jury summons.

How should I respond?

A) Ignore it.

B) Postpone it 1 year.

C) Tell them jury duty is unconstitutional because it violates the 13th amendment. The 13th amendment abolished involuntary servitude.

I'll find out tomorrow if I need to report. My job is boring AF and I get paid salary. So im looking forward to a day or two in downtown. Maybe hit up a nice happy hour and have tacos or something for dinner. Change up the routine.
Are you not entertained?

Are you fking retarded? This system is provided to us so that random regular citizens can give us a fair shot at judgement. THE ALTERNATIVE is having a court system that judges us without our input. Is that what you want? Is the simplest duty to society that difficult to follow or are you just that much of a rebel? I'll bet you like littering too because F being told to use a garbage can put there by "the man."

OP,
Jury duty is great. If you've ever watched Law and Order or any court movie you are in a front row seat for your own personal trial and all the lawyers and judges speak directly to you and show you all the evidence. It is actually a lot of fun and really interesting. UNTIL.....you get in the jury room and deliberate. Then you are stuck with a bunch of overly biased morons who can't use logic or reason. I drank heavily when I got home from that day of jury duty. The rest was cool and if you are on salary you'll probably get a free day off with pay and just have to turn in your $15 jury duty check to your work.

Can’t say, just letting you know what got me out of it.
I was actually selected when I was like 19 for a dwi case. Helped saw the jury to find him guilty lol. Was kinda cool to see the process up close.

Why should the 13th amendment be compromised in order to fulfill the 6th amendment - which is the right to an impartial jury?

You can have a fair jury that is voluntary.

Why should people be coerced to do jury duty?

Why aren't all laws more like suggestions? What right does anyone else have to dictate any aspect of our lives in any way?

The 13th amendment is part of the constitution which IS the supreme law of the United States.

Financial hardship or a non-refundable planned vacation work in my state.

Had jury duty recently. Was in the room with about 60 other people or so. It was for a murder trial that they said would take 3 weeks (ain't nobody got time for that). The guy also looked creepy AF, it was kind of eerie.

I noticed that the judge was letting people go for financial hardship. When it was my turn, I told the judge work only covers 2 weeks of paid jury duty leave (which wasn't a lie) and that it would cause me financial hardship and she let me get dismissed.

Feels like I dodged a bullet.

Jury duty is involuntary servitude, is it not?

Because the 13th Amendment abolished involuntary servitude.

I actually had my first jury summons ever a few months ago. I told my boss and was expecting to show on a work day. I called in to check the status and they confirmed that the whole thing was cancelled and I didn't have to go, also I think I was added to a list to not be summoned again for at least a year.
