That being said, 80’s action is GOAT. Van Damme (Lionheart) and Arnold (Terminator) and Sly (Rambo). There was story to them. Only John Wick 1 has any semblance of story.
John Wick 1, 4, 2, 3 in that order.

Had to re-read some of the plot summaries to differentiate the stories. I've seen the first one like 5+ times, the other 2 just once.
For me, it's probably 1 > 3 > 2. First one has that OG plot, humor, great action, epic ending. 2nd one does well with another epic ending, but overall plot wasn't mind blowing to me, but an adequate non-better sequel. Third one, Keanu Reeves' age begins to show a bit more, but the Japanese assassin fighting was sick, and I really liked the Bowery King's parts.
I have high hopes for the fourth, but I can only imagine Keanu's gonna keep looking worse with age. The story is supposed to take place within like a week after the events of the beginning of the 1st. Yet Keanu aged from 49 to 58 already lol.
BTW wanted to shout out my boy Lance Reddick. He was an underrated actor, I remember he was excellent in Fringe, and was a welcoming presence in the John Wick films. Very happy we are blessed with another hoorah from him in the fourth movie. I'm sad we won't have him anymore if sequels should arise.
Haven't seen the fourth one yet OP, but once I get my GF to finish the Harry Potter series, might postpone Star Wars and suggest John Wick 1-4 instead.

Only seen first two. I liked the style of gunplay mixed with martial arts.
Joh Woo's 'Hard Boiled' is a 90s movie with solid gunplay. Much rawer than John Wick though.

Haven't seen the 4th movie yet, but like most I still think the 1st one is the best. The story keeps getting worse in the series, but the action scenes in 3 were mind blowing to me. Almost liked them as much as The Raid series. Almost.
