Hey boomer, interest rates are higher now than the 0% that Trump bullied the Fed to keep them at...that's Biden's fault too I guess boomer?

And you still don't know what "boomer" means. SAD.

Sure, Trump "bullied" the Fed...for 13 months after he left office. The Fed rate didn't increase until March 2022, more than a year into the Biden administration. How much effort does it take come up with your fiction?

Hey boomer, why did the Fed lower rates in 19? And you think they should have increased them during the year it took Biden to rescue us from Covid? As soon as he got Trump's mess back under control, the Feds have done their thing unemcumbered. UNLIKE when Trump was in office.

And any thoughts on the inflation caused by Trump's $8T addition to the debt in 4 pathetic years? Biden is on pace for a much much lower addition to the debt.

Thank goodness Biden was able to fix just about all of the errors Trump made. Man, that pandemic response team should would have come in handy wouldn't it have boomer?

Your fixation is a Fed rate reduction from 2.4 to 1.55% in 2019? From the New York Times:"...uncertainty from President Trump’s trade war and slowing global growth continue to pose risks to the United States economy."
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/30/b...est-rates.html

I'm still not a "Boomer", but why bother with yet another lie?

So let's get this straight - The lower Fed rate was horrible and bad when Trump was President, but awesome and necessary for Biden's first 13 months in office? First you said TRUMP somehow forced the Fed to lower the rate (which is absurd). But if that was true, why didn't they immediately raise it when Trump was gone?

Your claims are as incoherent as calling me a boomer, just to prove you have no idea what "boomer" actually means or describes

Once again:TRUMPpolicies led to rapid development and distribution of the vaccines that BIDEN moronically opposed. Biden didn't have a damn thing to do with "rescuing us from Covid".

Trump"POLICIES LED TO RAPID DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE VACCINES". I didn't say Trump led the vaccine creation.

Boomer. Trump's POLICIES had zero to do with the development of the vaccines. His removal of some red tape approvals sped things up. Quite a bigly difference boyo.

And aware me again why the Fed lowered rates during 19? I thought the economy was "booming" under Trump? Does the Fed lower rates often during "booming" economic times?

And I'd like your thoughts about how Trump's MASSIVE spending led directly to the inflation we're seeing now. Or are you going to blame the spending on the democrats who occupied ONE branch of government for two whole years during the orange one's reign where he essentially destroyed our country.

C'mon boomer.

Did I say JANUARY 20? You realize that it's > three years later than JANUARY 20 and Trump's master Putin invaded Ukraine right? Do you also realize that Trump's complete bungling of the covid response led to crushed demand so much so that oil companies took production off line. The US's amazing comeback led by Biden has just now brought that production back.

Imagine thinking like a Trump supporter...#puke

Gas was high before the invasion.

And what should Trump have done, he left it up to the governors.

The fed has a 2% inflation target, if inflation runs higher than 2% then the fed raises interest rates, if inflation runs lower than 2% then the fed cuts interest rates.

In 2019, the average inflation rate was about 1.8%, that is below 2% so the fed cut interest rates.

I'd like the fed to do its job, If the fed did its job, they would have raised interest rates in 2021.

Biden goes on to spend money that wasn't needed or wasn't needed given inflation.

The fed allows Biden to do this and they still don't raise interest rates with inflation.

The fed and Biden did this to make him look good economically in 2021 and 2024.

If the fed raises rates in 2021, the economy crashes and Biden never looks good economically.

The economy doesn't recover from domestic strength, it recovers from rate cuts.

Biden also can't spend money and we don't aggravate Russia into war.

Be careful with this topic, boyos. Recession is inevitable. Don't hope for it to be a bad one just to "own the libs." Banks just had their biggest drop in lending ever so recession is baked into the cake, but don't hope for misery just to make the other team look bad. It was f'd up when Bill Maher said he hoped for it after Trump was elected. Don't be like TDS sufferer Bill Maher of 5 years ago.

Rates had been at zero for nearly a decade. They barely raised them at all in 2017-18, still effectively almost zero. At their highest point, which lasted for all of a year they were still at their 3rd lowest in history. They were only lower in the decade beforehand, and 2002-2004. Rates right now are historically very average. The FED causes these big bust and boom cycles. I can understand them dropping rates when OVERpanic about Covid hit, but they should have started raising rates by mid-2021 at the latest. Especially since tons of "free" money was being thrown around, with poorcels getting paid more to sit on their asses than they'd ever earned working.

The overheating they helped create they're undoing now. Automobiles are going to be in the same boat as foreclosed homes were during the Great Recession. Credit cards - fogedaboudit. Tons of people using them more than ever because inflation has been high. Lots of defaults coming there. Home prices will take a while to come back down, since the bust after a housing bubble takes years to play out. I'd advise a lot of people to move their investments into slow growth, high dividend stocks and don't sell for several years, but that's probably a thread all its own.

I don't.

I would love nothing more than to have an actual booming economy again with bigly stonks and bigly 401k. Then we could all argue about who to give the credit to, rather than argue about who to blame for a bad economy
It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

The overheating they helped create they're undoing now. Automobiles are going to be in the same boat as foreclosed homes were during the Great Recession. Credit cards - fogedaboudit.
