Anyone sorta freaked out about their life rn

Doing this sober april thing has sort of thrown me into an existential crisis. Alot of suppressed chit is coming to the surface and it feels like stuff doesnt make much sense anymore. Feels like Im floating in deep waters and dont see a life raft anywhere. Damn these late night feels suck srs

Speaking with a professional during early sobriety helps.

Thats life, son.

But I'm personally more worried about the times we're living in. Cant tell if Im just more "awake" now than I was when I was younger, or if things have really gotten bad in the world when it comes to sustainability of resources, environment, and balance of global power.

Life itself, I can change that in the blink of an eye. Its the macro conditions I cant change.

I wouldn't take a moment of genuine fear and clarity for granted. It can be really motivating if you can capitalize on it.

Or not if you gotta take a drink just to numb it. We've all been there.

I feel this. The abyss is terrifying and liberating at the same time. Like you reach a point where your ego doesnt have any control anymore and its jarring. Gonna bite the bullet and stay sober still the end of this month. Maybe this is what those hippies call spiritual progress or something

Repressed emotions/feelings eventually need a way out. Let them pass so they don't come back, that's where the growth comes from.

Absolutely, it was the best of times it was the worst of times. We are in the worst of times, then we will soon be best of times.

Go out in the wilderness and take in nature. You will find out how relaxing it is.

I made peace with the fact that I cant change the world awhile ago, so I decided to work on myself instead

Agree, much easier said than done though. I keep numbing bad feels and hoping they go away but they never do

Yea, but then I look around, and I don't nearly have it as bad as some other people. I still have my job, and I don't have to work two jobs to scrape by. I haven't lost any immediate family or close friends(excluding my 85 year old grandma)

I know people who have lost people to cancer, covid, drunk drivers, suicide, overdose and taken it pretty hard.

Kind of sounds like your problems are internal, so it is kind of hard to get away from them. Luckily for me, most of my stress is external, awaiting WW3, market crashes, inflation, interest rates, social unrest, pretty much stuff I can't control and might not happen. I can and should just quaruntine myself from watching and reading news and I will probably calm down a little.
