My new book is out now Misc

Ten plus years on this site and eighty posts, yet I browse it most weeks – and the advice here only contributed to one ex-girlfriend! But it is the positive threads and lifting advice I have stayed around for.

After six years of writing, I have a triumphant moment of my own to share. My book Closer Oceans was printed and is available for pre-order and ready for sale as ebook.

There’s a lot of focus on dystopian works, and while Closer Oceans has elements of it, I would like to think I’ve approached it with a utopian ambition.

The details are below, but the misc demographic according to the ‘shutting this down post’ are the same as my readership.

I will send anyone here the eBook for free if they DM me.

I do not want to see this place canned, even with the trend of threads in the last year or so. I am glad for it and being ten years older than when I joined, Closer Oceans will hopefully contribute to the same positive mentality of someone here at that time in their life.

Synopsis:

One needs to be an outsider to know how and when to escape.

Closer Oceans is the story of pursued young men escaping from a society of ennui to a militarised academy that is eight miles below the ocean’s surface and built within a dome. Fulfilling work and honest living are its promises away from the automation and bureaucracy above, with literature being its most valued resource; mixed with a potion called ichor, books can become weapons and survival tools when chewed.

The potential utopia is being distanced though: centuries of scoundrels have rigged its structure in order to coerce the labouring and keep the best lands and organic foods for themselves. A new scheme rumours to consolidate their corruption even further. Made outcasts on arrival and unwilling to conform, the young men search for how to liberate the Dome.

The optimism of youth keeping its head up is the force majeure against oldness’ bequeathed doom; Closer Oceans answers youth’s call for help when the heaviest decrepitude is all around it. Solutions to artificial intelligence, governance, the search for freedom, persecution and the individual human condition are all found within its voyage.

Official website:www.closeroceans.com

Available here also:https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/clo...ton/1143236364

I am self-publishing and do not have access to the network of traditional publishers. So I would be grateful to anyone who shared a link to the website or recommended Closer Oceans after reading it.

Lol I wouldn't attend a class run by some of the accounts here for sure. Thank you and I'm for one not selling with Amazon because of their impact on small bookshops.

If there is anything sincere about that post, I view you as a very strong person and am kind of jelly in that aspect. Good for you srs. For a number of reasons.

Just an opinion.

I hadn't heard of Library Genesis until now. Seems more for comics and journals.

Congrats on finishing your book! You should post a link in the 52 books in 52 weeks thread.

Not sure if that would be frowned upon or not. Maybe others who post there can weigh in?

Why would anyone have an issue with Amazon? If there were demand for small book stores, they would still be in business

Just my opinion: I started reading the first chapter on your site and justified text is less comfortable to read compared to left-aligned.
