I just booked two and a half weeks in Japan. Can't wait. Love Asia. Always thought about relocating to East Asia.

Shhhh

Don't burst his fantasy bubble, boyo. He's trying to escape 'clown world.' He has it so bad given that he was fortunate enough to be born in one of the greatest countries in human history in terms of personal possibility and opportunity.

Leave the USA for a week and be mind=blown at how civilized other countries are.

People in Europe (and Japan) simply decided to NOT be useless crackheads living in the sewer. What a mind-blowing concept!

Everyone takes pride in their work, even if they make sandwiches for a living, they make them perfectly.

You can walk up to a random person in a big city, and there's a 99% chance they aren't batchit crazy.

People cooperate with each other on the road.

Public transit is clean, cheap, and enjoyable to be on.

No skid row, and also no fat people.

In the USA, people can't even make a right hand turn without having a fit of rage over some morbidly obese pedestrian in the crosswalk lmao.

I don't know where you live, but everything you described most certainly exists in America.

In San Diego you have Del Mar and Torrey Pines and in the LA area you have Newport Beach and SLO (San Luis Obispo) and the SJC area (San Juan Capistrano).

You're comparing america as a whole to some nice parts in europe and asia lol...

Most of the world is an undeveloped chithole. America with all its faults is still a top tier country

There's a reason why koreans/japs are flocking to western countries and not the other way around

This,

I'm still trying to figure out how he's going to move there. I guess the op can have a WFH job based in the US because he's not getting a job worth a damn in Japan. Teaching english (which is what the vast majority of people do when they say they "work" in japan) pays the equivalent of minimum wage in America. People that go there to teach english do so as contracted work where their room and board are paid for. Doing that job permanently you won't be eligible for that program, and considering Japan is as expensive as Los Angeles, thats not going to bode well for him.

hell, even if you have money, tenants in japan simply don't want to rent to "gaijin" because you're notoriously loud and messy....and you're simply not japanese.

Eh, I'd say its one of the easiest for simply not having "tones" to deal with like the nightmare of learning mandarin or vietnamese. For Japanese, you learn the vowel sounds and everything sounds exactly as pronounced. with very few exceptions.

Korean is deceptively easy, their alphabet is simple and even kinda fun to memorize, but when you get into the meat of the language, absolutely nothing makes sense and there are rules nad stipulations and exceptions for no reason other than "just because"

Exactly my point, why would you want to move to a place full of xenophobes?

And the discrimination isn't limited to outsiders either.

Its an extremally high pressured society regarding education, work, appearance, almost everything. There's a reason they have the highest suicide rates in the world.

East asian countries aren't anime and rainbows. Sure they might not deal with clown chit, but they have their own sets of problems

Korean alphabet is hilariously easy

ㅋㅋㅋ

but after the beginning it gets hard. You only need probably Topik 4 to be able to function in SK well enough.

for sure discrimination happens but nothing bad happens. You get rejected from a few nightclubs or some old ladies give u dirty looks.

I am still in shock when my neighbour in korea across the street left his luggage outside in front of his house ovvernight. That chit would be gone in any western city. Or ppl dont even ask anyone to look at their laptop/bags when they go to the washroom at the coffee shop.

unlike usa where joggers can attack or you have to lock your car and watch your bags in the coffee shop.

Brah.... Socal has tents lining the sidewalk lmfao.

"B b b but there's this one gated community that doesn't!"

Guess what? You still can't use the public transit to get there.

Top-to-bottom, in the largest cities overseas, there is a profound lack of degeneracy.

The only positive that I can think of is that Japan has millions of empty homes that have an asking price of a laughable $25K... But these homes are in the rural countryside where nobody wants to live due to a lack of jobs. In fact, the Japanese government has gone as far as offering to give away these homes and pay people to move to these towns. I'm pretty they're only extending that offer to ethnic Japanese, not sure if they'd be happy about foreigners buying these properties.
Everything I post is satire.

Can confirm. I lived/worked in Rome for a bit and it was great. Been to Italy a few times and can confirm I'd pick that country as my favorite. Weather of peace. Booze of peace. Food of peace. Permanently olive-skinned tan teds and fart factories of peace.
