This seems to sadly be a tragic set of circumstances-no doubt the old dude overreacted & needs to be punished, but it doesn't look like he is the KKK killer people have been claiming he is. I think a jail sentence at his age is probably a death sentence anyway & even if he escapes prison he can no longer live at that house, or even in the area with all the activists that want a piece of him.

Yes, but the cops looked at them system & it hasn't recorded anything since August 2022, due to a malfunction that the guy doesn't seem to have known about. Assume he only looks at it if anything happens like a break-in or attempt during the night.

What's really strange is how all the dumbocrats want to act like there was no reason for this senseless shooting. No reason for this man to be scared.

99 times out of 100 if a strange black guy is trying to yank your locked door open after dark it's for nefarious reasons.

Let's just ignore all the crime stats and act like this incident wasn't caused by the reality of the world we live in.

Yes. As opposed to when a white guy does the exact same thing, right? If someone was "yank your locked door open after dark" and you realized they were white, you'd know there was nothing to be worried about, because whites have never committed violent crimes before. Well except for that one time.

So...dude legit thought he was going to get robbed, and some random kid got shot. Sorry, this is not grounds for a murder charge, much less any sort of charge whatsoever. It's unfortunate that it happened, but if this happened in Texas the "scared to death" comment alone with the kid on his property is grounds for lethal force.

Ralph is currently at home with the family. He can ambulate and communicate. A true miracle considering what he survived.

You know how you feel when you have just gone to sleep & something wakes you up or even most morning when you wake up & get out of bed-you are dazed, jittery, maybe a bit dizzy. It is dark etc-the guy was going to be half awake & confused, probably paranoid something was going down on his doorstep, maybe the area also has high crime rates. This is not conducive to making clear & rational decisions.

I knew a guy who did some street substance and walked in to the wrong house because he was confused.

Funny story. Every chance someone would have shot him.

It is a tragedy if so. It is not unjust.

Kid made a careless decision. Kind of an overreaction. Very fortunate result.

Probably & his response was insane. But I can see why he behaved so strangely-clearly from the security sign outside & the surveillance system he was paranoid to a large degree about his home security, maybe he has early stage dementia, add in a groggy old dude in the dark that has just been woken up & it is a recipe for disaster.
