Music industry getting scared over AI

A ghostwriter using his own lyrics created an AI generated song involving the weekend and Drake. Keep in mind, both voices of drake and the weekend are AI generated and neither artist were involved in the making of this song.



The song is gaining popularity on social media sites and now music industry and msm is taking notice asking for a ban of AI technology.

"Universal Music Group has responded to the viral A.I.-generated song by Drake and The Weeknd calling it “fraud” & telling streaming platforms to ban the technology"

This techs been here for a while. Just because people are more aware doesn’t mean anything. Sensationalism at its finest.

Someone explain how AI recreates the voices? Is it pulling from previously recorded material and splicing it together? unaware of how this AI stuff works

AI will outperform trashy modern pop with ease. Pretty easy to reverse engineer what Max Martin has done. No chance of AI ever getting close to Mozart levels of creativity though.

Lets be real, most modern rappers change key like they're at a swingers party without melodine or auto tunes to keep their non talent ass speaking the right note.

AI will simply be used to make someone who has no talent appear as if they have talent on the internet. Same as its been for the past 20 years.

EDIT:Just listened to that song, if thats what AI is putting out, industry safe for a minute. No ones gonna let a garbage bass line like that blow holes in their lead the entire song. Sounds like absolute **** on monitors.

It will do the opposite. We will get even more digitally manufactured music and the record companies will simply stop paying the actual musicians.

Just like now, no one with actual talent will be allowed in the game unless they fit the formula.

If anyone makes a new song that has 3 cords used in another song an AI will find it so a record company can sue.
