Is a 225 OHP the rarest lift in a commerical gym?

I think it is. At my 24hour fitness I've seen 3/4 plate benches numerous times. 4/5/6 plate DLs and squats but a 225 OHP? Not even once.

Probably. You're never gonna hit 225 ohp unless you train exclusively for it. Who would waste time doing that? Plus you'll end up looking like FLEX in the end.

My last best OHP is in my sig, but it was by far the hardest to get. Not that I hit squats or DL very often but still.

I dunno, OP. I think 235 OHP is probably more rare than 225 OHP.

And..if you'll believe it... I think 245 OHP iseven more rarethan both!

Yes, I think so. It is the lift that when you start getting to 135 and above people start noticing in commercial gyms and mma gyms. Not so much in grimy fat boy powerlifert gyms. There you start getting looks from fat boys at around 205.

I literally do sets of 12 with 185, sitting. However im unsure if sitting is easy than standing. I hit my chest on the way down as well. I also dont find that very impressive. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

I was always told sitting is slightly easier. I have no clue. I changed from standing to sitting and like it better. I notice the few people that do do OHP have been switching over to sitting mostly too.

It is exponentially harder standing.

185x12 seated would be like 155x3 standing

FR? I always thought it was easier standing. Sitting you completely take out the legs. Even when MFers strict push standing you know they be squeezing and popping them glutes on the drive up.

I haven’t seen any ohp 2 plates in my life.

Granted, I’ve spent all my time at commercial big box gyms, but still..

It’s rare to see ohp period imo

Whenever I do OHP, I do it with dumbbells. Should I try it with bar next time?
