I mean the dude was selling pirated games for profit, so no one should be surprised when he gets a harsh punishment. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

Eggsactly.

I used to mod Playstations, dat dere soldering skillz. But I would never have tried to advertise or sell copied cds outright. That's always been highly illegal. Can't imagine the stupidity it would take to start an actual pirate business.

True but the punishment shouldn't be as severe, that's the problem. Dude's life is practically ruined, he had a worse deal than most drug dealers getting out of prison.

Brutal normie caged up and fined, whilst the Golden Bull lives free

"Bowser was indicted back in 2020 alongside Max Louarn and Yuanning Chen for their activities as part of Team Xecuter, a hacking ring that sold chips allowing users to play pirated games. Despite seemingly having a smaller role in the operation as its marketing and PR manager, Bowser was the only one of the three ultimately tried and convicted in the US - Chen, a Chinese national, was never arrested, and Louarn was never able to be extradited to the US."

This is fuked up and so are those of you that think it's an appropriate punishment, although i'm not surprised from the misc. He's literaly getting a worse punishment than numerous far more serious crimes with real victims. Does the U.S have an equivalent of the European court of human rights that he can appeal to?

lol @ how that self righteous, long haired ****git frames the situation at the beginning. "Punished for playing the game in a way other than what they intended", "evil", "cruel", etc. It's called setting a precedent and sending a warning. Nintendo is a company purely aimed at kids/family entertainment. If they are lax on mods, the internet would eventually go full internet and there would be videos of Mario running around with a giant dildo in his hand. They can't risk any damage to their brand.

Low IQ soyos just see "corporation bad" at all times tho.

I didn't even watch the rest. Hackers deserve everything they get. They are over intelligent nerds with nothing better to do.

How do you feel about the fact that rapists get less severe punishment than pissing off a corporation?

That's one example of a high profile case that they wanted to make an example out of. I know here in the U.K people have gotten caught with category A CP and not even seen the inside of a jail cell. It's not right and neither is what this Gary guy got.

Another dishonest framing of the situation.

People convicted of rape usually get heavy sentences btw so not sure what you're on about. I'd also rather have to pay some money every month than be on a sex offender register for 15 years or whatever. So not only are you dishonest, you're also clueless.

****s get disgustingly light sentences and it's probably because the world is controlled by **** elites.

You're right, i should have said "some". If you are denying that SOME rapists get less and SOME other crimes with actual victims get less then you are the one being dishonest. Also just because you would prefer to pay 30 percent (i'm guessing that's before tax as well) of your pay for the rest of your life, then be on the register, after being in prison and losing many assets, plus finding it very difficult to ever get a job again, doesn't mean everyone would prefer that.

If you think the punishment for this guy is just, then i put it to you that you are the clueless one my friend.

This. Copyright is no joke. Modify stupid games, get modified prizes.

However I do not agree with that kind of prison sentence and a fine of an individual from a large corporation. I think they should have to prove it caused them damage and I don't see how they did that. Putting him in prison? yeah, real danger to society.

This whole thing is a joke, and it's end goal will be stripping all of you of your rights.

The guy modified a system he bought, he sells chips to modify other systems, this should be legal. You should be able to do whatever you want with hardware you buy. That other people were using it to pirate has nothing to do with him.

This is similar to retards suing gun companies because little Timmy decided he was a tranny and went and shot a school up.

If any of you are smart, you'll stop paying for Nintendo shyt.

Also, Nintendo lost no money. As someone who has pirated things in the past, if I can't find it for free, I'm not paying for it. It's all BS.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
