Solving the problem for peace and quiet, aka tranquility is all that passengers want.

Your screaming baby( 45 min) does not have extra rights on the flight.
How long does it take you to handle that screaming/crying situation?
10 min, 15 min, 20-25, min, 35 min, 40 min?

At church the dad's walk outside( not possible on a flight) or to the back of the church to stop the interruption in the service.
Surely parents don't throw up their hands and say i am a helpless parent, or do they?

Exactly. When my kid was younger and throwing a fit in public or crying as a baby, I'd do everything I could to get her to calm down. Sometimes that meant getting up and leaving. Unfortunately, that's no always an option, and you can't just sit at home for years until they are old enough to have outgrown all that. People who bitch about it only add to the stress of the parents and make the entire situation worse.

Couple things:

If you get on an airplane without noise canceling cans, it's on you.

The screaming baby on a plane is typically the result of the pressure in the plane hurting their ears. Especially during take off and landing.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
