Went to my first Publix today

JFL at Whole Foods in NYC:

1. Chaos and stuff thrown everywhere
2. Staff that cannot even look you in the eye
3. Randomly out of necessities

Go to Publix in FL

1. Well lit, clean and organized
2. Baggers smiling and chatting as you check out
3. People smiling at each other and random chit chat.

I live and work in NYC and all I hear are folks crying about FL. Yet since I got here yesterday have been eating like a king, drinking, going to a wedding later today.

I love NYC and always will, but JFL if you chit on FL like all those coping Dems in NYC who are just mad that life in a red State is so much better. Dignity, respect for public spaces, yeah. Tell me more about how FL sucks, copecels.

I love Publix. Went there this morning.

About 6 months ago this area was hit by a hurricane. All the stores were closed for weeks except most Publix stores. They were open, well stocked, and nice and clean.

Chuckled seeing this article this morning with Trump's campaign saying Florida is one of the worst states. I guess that is politics.

if Trump feels that way about Florida hope he moves, finds somewhere else to live that he enjoys better. With his prosecution in New York though I wouldn't recommend that he move back there. Then again the Trump prosecution has placed Trump in first place for the GOP race, so maybe he can love New York again.

And yeah this rings true. And I mean, why is it I come down here, people are smiling and talking to each other. In Whole Foods in NYC folks shove past each other, workers with sour faces etc.

And constantly try to chit on FL. My wife came for a course last year and all her colleagues were complaining about FL. Her course colleagues were all from here, near Miami, and invited her on these tours and such.

Wifey comes back to NYC "dunno what these people are on about. It is clean, people are friendly, lots of eye contact. And NYC...people looking grumpy all the time, lots of craziness" etc.

This feeling I have here tracked well in Utah and Arizona too.

Yeah sub counter was great - and pristine.

End of the day this is a great place to be. And property pricing seems quite reasonable, at least compared to NYC which probably isn't a fair comparison.

i wish publix would stop accepting food stamps. the joggers on food stamps are disgusting and really ruin the pleasure of shopping at publix

Came back here on a (lucrative) contract in 2019. Wife is German and trying to show her all the awesome places we could live that aren't like that. She fits in - daughter of a senior LEO, conservative too. 5'10", blonde, and carrying my child due in July.

So we are in planning mode for the future srs.
