Feel like I got pwned by a bartender last night...

Took a bird out for some drinks and dinner. Bill was $175 so I gave him $35 and was pushing my chair in when I heard a waiter say 18 percent gratuity was included in the total at another table. I decided to take a look at the broken down copy of the receipt and saw that $24 dollars was already included in the total. This bartender poured us a few drinks and handed us a plate of food and got a $60 from me. Made me wonder how many people he's done this too.

Should the Bartender or Waiter be obligated to tell the patron that gratuity is already added into the check or is it my fault for not looking?

That's what happens when you have someone pour drinks for you. Should of been your own bartender at home. Gotta pay for the 'service'.

A person with good morals would feel obligated to say something. I could tell English wasn't this guys first language but I know that he should have communicated that with me. especially if waiters were making it known to patrons when delivering checks to the table.

Yeah was the biggest waste of money. The Filet I got was actually cooked almost perfectly though. The chick sent me $110 on Venmo afterwards without ever saying anything before hand.
